UFO not in the MCM

Post » Wed Feb 03, 2016 5:08 pm

Ok, so I had a thread a little while ago looking for the command to setsatge SkyUI, as it wasn't picking up my mods. I got the command, which worked before I had to do a complete wipe and re-install . The command is working, I got the message, but it still won't pick up UFO. I re-installed UFO again, but it still doesn't show. Anyone have a fix?

Thanks.

This probably isn't the problem, but I'll mention it anyway. It's been my experience that some mods take a long time to initialize. I had one mod take five minutes. I actually thought the thing wasn't working and re-installed it. It was purely by accident (I left the room with the game running for a few minutes) that I discovered that it took such a long time to initialize.

So if you haven't tried it yet you might try letting your game sit for five or six minutes and see if that has any effect. You never know, maybe UFO is one of those mods that takes an incredibly long time.

I'll try it, thanks! There were some times that I got the message that it verified the mods, and sometimes it didn't show anything. Maybe I was too impatient. The whole game and problems were driving me crazy, I never found the cause. I wiped the game twice, lost my CK follower, and had to re-install the CK as well as the game. All total, took me about 24hrs to get everything right again. Now if the MCM will cooperate, I'll breath a sigh of relief. (I'll be paranoid for a while though!)

Edit: tried 3 times, kept getting the same verification, detected 12 mods where there should be 14. UFO still not registering. I'll keep trying other times though. It's baffling.

I had a couple like that the other day. I didn't think they were working, re-downloaded the distros, re-installed the mods, then went off to the kitchen to start dinner. Voila - an hour later, all better!

Andra, what's UFO? I don't have that one....

It's Ultimate Follower Overhaul, good mod. You don't have to have SkyUI to have it, but it's easier, imo, to manage with the MCM of SkyUI. It has the same options in dialog. I'm going to keep trying the console command every so often...

Eh, I installed SkyUI... but I'm using the the "retro" menus - REALLY hate the new menu setup. Clunky, unworkable.... UNUSABLE.... for me. Of course.... I have no use for followers, so....

I know, that's why I never recommended it to you. :D I've only had SkyUI for a few months, so I'm ok with the menus.

Well, as far as I can see, there was no reason at all to go the way they did. Sure there are people who play the game for whom those fecking gob-smacked menus work.... but I'd be willing to bet that most people - well, we love the ability to use MCM with other mods (yeah, I do that....) but the whole other menu stupids just drive folks nuts.
