I have tried everything, I searched the net, this forum and I simply cannot get Karliah to open the gate. In three different games on the XBOX 360.

I tried interuppting her, tried constantly speaking to Brynolf, paralyzed her and shouted her right at the gate. All for nothing.


Why in the WORLD doesn't Bethesda FIX THIS????

It is a MAJOR game breaker as I can't complete the Thieves Guild quest.

I know some people have supposedly finished it on an XBOX 360 but in three different games and many tries within those games I have come to the conclusion Bethesda dosn't care any more.


I was going to buy Fallout 4 but they won't get another dime of my money until they fix this. It would be simple to pacth this XBOX 360 wouldn't it?


Unfortunalely I do not play it on a PC with the console commands as I have an XBOX 360.

It will never get patched, unforunately. Skyrim support is long dead. When exactly does this occur? What gate?

They can not fix what is not broken my friend.


My Xbox 360 version works perfectly!

I suggest....ensure you have all the official Xbox Skyrim patches loaded in.


Check you disc for scratches or blemishes. In my experience Skyrim is VERY unforgiving of disk damage . A small scratch could just obscure a vital line of code if you think about it.


You could try a fresh install.

This is the fourth XBOX Legendary disc in my XBOX 360.

It has failed many times AND, if you google it you will find thousands of hits with people with the same problem.

And just how does one go about patching an XBOX game manually? They come down automatically and I'm always connected to the internet.

Do you perhaps mean the PC game?

I had no problem with this part on my PC several years ago but the problem is XBOX 360, Thieves Guild, Karliah will not open the gate, she walks away.

There were dozens of "workarounds" on the internet and none of them have worked.

Like I said, google it, there's more people out there than myself with the X-B-O-X 360 bug and it IS a bug.

Sorry to diasgree with you but you'd have to prove to me that your's actually works before I'd believe you.

Karliah will not open the gate, she walks away never to return.

I have the legendary edition double disc version of Skyrim and have had no issues with this quest. Unless it's something wrong with the disc maybe try to install the dlc disc making sure it updates before the installation begins (if it asks, as mine does).

If I did that wouldn't I lose all my saves?

Wouldn't I have to uninstall it first then reinstall using the second disc?

But the I'd lose all my saves right?


Like I said this is the fourth Legendary set on this XBOX.

if your constantly trying it with the same save, its likely the save thats bugged, not the game itself

Played through four times with four separate discs.


Every single time I get to this part of the quest she walks away.


Even the PC version you have to use the console commands, I have, please google it. There's thousands of posts about this.


I'm sorry but I do not believe anyone has ever gotten past this on an XBOX 360.


I have tried many times with four discs and all new games.

I have an idea.


Could someone please tell me what THEIR version of the game is so I can compare?


XBOX 360 only. NOT PC.


If I HAVE to install the second disc FIRST maybe it isn't updating. I don't know.


So if I could get the latest version number and compare it to mine maybe I'll see a problem?


Sorry for the posts but this is extremely frustrating as the TG is my favorite quest line.

no you don't, I can guarantee that is false as i've gone through it several times

well why don't you see for yourself? go to youtube, find a lets play of that particular quest where the person is playing on the 360, and see if it advances



this quest is not as broken as your making it out to be

Granted, I didn't have the legendary edition, but had all DLCs. I got thru it on my 360.
