Around 30,000 visitors are expected at Lisbon’s Campo Pequeno for the city’s ‘Chocolate em Lisboa’ festival, taking place from February 4-7.
The event promises “over 80 chocolatiers and 200 brands of chocolate” from Portugal and around the world.
There will also be an impressive 1.7 metre chocolate sculpture, as well as workshops and ‘Chocooking’ demonstrations”.
Peru’s tourism board is a special guest this year and will host a Peruvian Chocolate Competition which will award €9,000 to the “best Portuguese creations using cacao”.
Doors are open every day between 10.30am and 9.30pm.
Last year, a reported “six tonnes of chocolate” was consumed at the festival.
