I use it '10% of the time', I enjoy the aesthetics of PA, and it's almost mandatory for places like the glowing sea, but I'm simply too parsimonious to waste fusion cores as I wander.

I use it with some characters more than others, as it applies to role playing. In my mind, a character should really have high science and/or advanced training to really get the most out of it, and most of mine don't. I never have done a play through where a character wore it all of the time.

Quick reflexes ;) In all seriousness a high perception helps as does action points. Also aiming for the right bit of your enemy

Spoiler
belly shot deathclaws and shoot the legs out from ghouls

And I wont lie, sometimes reloading till you get it right lol.

My current character is wearing it all the time, but that's mainly because it made sense to pair the high tech armor with the high tech weapons she's already using (she's using Laser weapons exclusively). The other characters I play probably won't use it beyond the initial fight against the Deathclaw in Concord. In fact, I intend to do at least one character who doesn't use it at all, for either the Concord fight or the Glowing Sea, just to prove to myself that it can be done.

On my current playthrough I used the power armor in Concord then left it at Sanctuary to never be used again, with one exception. That exception is to move it into my new digs for display once building is complete. Otherwise it'll sit at the repair station without a fusion core.

This, plus I'm not fond of ugly armors. I find a lot of replay value for me is in how much I enjoy looking at the game. I figure I'll be modding once mods are really safe for playthrough value. Two hundred years after the bombs something should be green! Look at Chernobyl - the wildlife has taken over.

The only time I use Power Armor is when I see one just laying around in the wasteland so I will get into it and take it back to my main settlement where I have a collection of them. Other than that I think it is too cumbersome to use.

Think it's ugly, and clumsy, so I only use it when I absolutely have to. (i.e, one time attacking Children of the Atom before I got a hazmat suit, and for jetpacking.) Never used it in Fallout 3.

I wear it when I know I'll need the extra protection and/or load carrying capability.

If I'm just going to be sneaking around I leave it behind.

Way too cumbersome and clanky for me (I hate the noise it makes when you walk). I think I've used it 3-4 times in 350+ hours of game time. I collect all the suits I find and upgrade them, just in case, but unless I'm facing heavy weapons with no cover, or going under water for an extended period, I never use it. I prefer to rely on stealth, picking my cover when possible, laying mine fields, and hitting from a distance.

I am level 60 with a full suit of T-60 winterized coating power armor (jetpack included) and i think theres nothing better that stumbling upon a camp of Raider Scum while in my power armor (as a bonus i carry a reflex sighted boosted gattling laser that does 59 damage). power armor is severley OP though.
