So my last couple of settlement attacks had some raiders in raider power armor. I salvaged it and repaired it, thinking that I could equip some of my settlers in it giving them an advantage for the next attack. But there was no (T) equip option to have a settler equip it. I can physically put it in there inventory, but they can't equip it. Is this intended, or is it just a glitch I've run into? Maybe if I just leave it laying around they'll use it? It's certainly of no use to me as I've got better power armor of my own (which I rarely use anyway). Has anyone else been able to equip settlers with raider power armor?

Not a glitch. If you leave PA in your settlement (with a fusion core in it), settlers can randomly use it during attacks. But note that raiders can use it too, if they get to it first. Also there was a glitch when PA just dissapeared after being used by settlers. Probably, it was fixed by patch 1.3. But I don`t know how it works now.

As far as i know you cant but if you leave power armour standing around with a power core in it, they will jump in it during an attack and use it, i had multiple suits and after one attack ahd to go around and find them all, pull out the powercores to stop the settlers just jumping in them and leaving them around.

Just leave the power armor in an easy to get to spot in your settlement with a power core in it and someone will use it the next time an attack occurs. Also, while you can't tell a settler to get into power armor you can tell them to get out of it.

You can't equip power armor pieces on a settler. You can equip them only on a PA frame. And frames can't be placed in to inventory. Only way you can make settler wear PA is by leaving PA frame in a settlement with fusion core. During attack, settlers will enter it. When attack is over, they will leave it. Beware however, if settler is killed during attack, you will loose frame. Humanoid enemies can also enter your PA, if they get to it first. In which case you gone loose your frame too.

Same is btw valid for inactive companions.

Currently there is no reliable, risk free way to equip settlers with PA.

Power armour is a vehicle, not a set of clothes.

I got an idea. Leave some PA with fusion core. Start the siren/alarm and shoot some shot in the air (just in case) and some settlers should equip it. I don't want to test myself because all mine PA are away from settlers, lined up ready to be fixed (when I get time...).
