Neither you or your wife can smoke therefore its heavily implied it must of been the dog that ran away in pre war boston.

You can smoke cigarettes and cigars.

You also get a perk although whatever they increase stat wise i'll leave it to you. Im thinking maybe a + in charisma though. Higher number got cigars and / or quality of product. Keeping smoking too often however puts a penalty on your endurance because you are short of breathe more. You also cannot hold breathe while sniping for as long. These only happen when you smoke like a chinney. If you go cold turkey your breathing returns to normal.



But look!


Equipping weapon whilst smoking (Perhaps raider got the jump on you?) you keep the cigar or cigarette in your mouth as you fire away. Walk around bad ass with your shades, cigar and shotgun in your hands.


However if you talk whilst holding a weapon perhaps it falls out of your mouth? Take a lot of effort adding a muffling effect to all lines of dialogue so yeah just take it out your mouth!

Omg I wish. It drove me nuts that everyone in the wasteland smokes, im huffing cow [censored] and solvents yet cigarettes are off limits.
