Unable to see Pipboy

Post » Thu Feb 11, 2016 11:07 pm

I'm a bit bummed. I bought a new PC since Fallout:4 came out and could not wait to play. Now I'm a crippled player because I can not view my Pipboy properly unless I am wearing power armor. When I am in the power armor I can see the complete pipboy fine but if I'm not, I can only see the screen and not the tabs above the screen that allows me to view my inventory or anything else. It's as if it's zoomed in far too far so that the outer edges of it can't be seen. Just the little green screen where my little guy is there showing me any damage he has. No dials, no tabs. Upper and right hand sides of it just off the screen.

I have tried changing resolutions, to no avail. I have tried changing the screen fit in the TV I use as a monitor. No help. In windowed mode it goes too far into the upper right corner to even think about playing it.

I'm sure it's something simple I have just overlooked but I've spent weeks looking for a solution and have found none. Thus, my game sits quietly on my pc with no hope of enjoying or playing it properly.

I have a Samsung HDTV LED 24" wide screen TV that I use as a monitor.

I'm not sure what other details you might need about my pc or settings but ask and I will try to provide it.

It's your FOV settings. (I had the same problem.) Make them a bit larger and you should be fine. :)

90 80 is the default FOV. Also by pressing V you can zoom in on certain interfaces, so try hitting V again.

edit: Sorry default is 80, although 90 looks better. At least at my resolution.

Can I just change it with a console command or do I need to do it in the files?

Yes.

Type the following:

FOV 90 90
refreshini

Then save the game. I should work. Testing it now.

Thank you both very much. I have done it and it worked wonderfully!

It's nice when you can close your own thread as resolved.
