Can't load game without frame rate dip Intel HD 5500 (F4)

Post » Fri Feb 12, 2016 7:38 am

First of all, I am fully aware that Fallout 4 is not officially supported on Intel graphics. I've seen it played on Intel though, so there must be some solution

So I recently bought Fallout 4 on my laptop. I have an Intel Core i7-5500U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 and 8 GB of RAM. Following this tutorial on Reddit and enabling Force WARP I was able to get Fallout 4 to work in 720p with lowest settings. The menu was a bit laggy but barely noticeable at the most. The game loaded fine and I got to the "War never changes" opening cut scene. It was a bit choppy near the end but it was fine. When the character creation scene came up, it stayed white for a while. Eventually the white went away to reveal the character. The lag was terrible, and it was practically a slideshow. I decided to use this YouTube tutorial, going through all steps, except I ignored the Process Lasso stuff, and disabled Force WARP. The menu runs fine, but it crashes on the loading screen after hitting New. I tried this YouTube tutorial to fix the crash, but that froze my computer. Does anyone know a solution, or is anyone else able to play the game at a playable rate with around the same specs? Thanks in advance.

PS: Apparently I can't post links. The Reddit tutorial is wafflepath's "I DID IT! How to Run Fallout 4 on Intel HD" on the Low End Gaming subreddit. The first YouTube Tutorial is "Fallout 4 - Intel HD graphics 720p@30+ frames (Ultimate Optimization Guide) " by Anthony LaRocco. The second is " [FIXED] : FALLOUT 4 CRASH DURING LOADING SCREEN " by 4aLse.

Well, are you be able to get it to work, with those tutorials your mentioning above?

It loads the title screen, and if Disable WARP is enabled in the DurectX Control Panel it will keep going but is very laggy when it gets to the character customization screen.

Sorry there is no magic fix for unsupported hardware.

I'm aware of that. That's why I'm asking the community and not Bethesda.

You're also asking the community to bang their heads against the wall to help you figure out why you can't play the game on unsupported hardware. It's essentially like wondering why your vehicle, that requires Unleaded fuel, won't operate correctly when using Leaded fuel. I assure you, if there were some sort of sorcery you could perform to get it working properly, it'd already been outlined in one of the tutorials you followed.

And there actually is a seemingly magical fix: follow min. requirements.

Yes and the mod author says this too:

Basically, if you can already run the game (albeit at a low fps), this most will almost certainly give you a good fps boost.

If your game does not launch or doesn't run well (crashes, unplayable fps...etc.) then don't count on this mod fixing any of those problems.

Anyway, give it a try - you never know!

The laptop solution you will be happiest with is to add a separate GPU with at least 2GB Vram. May not be possible with yours.
