I love the voice acting. But I will agree with others that I wish we had options like in Dragon Age Inquisition. Seems eventually all my characters become one and the same.
I love the new environments. They feel more alive then in previous titles. Not that that was a bad thing. I loved how frightening FO3 seemed to my first character. But the fact there are more places in Fallout 4 that have friendly people. IE your own settlements and such. Weather patterns and trees were a nice touch. And while you can not loot them for raven meat for the bbq, those ravens flying around add a nice touch. And flies. Oh and the fog. I like a foggy morning overlooking Boston.
Settlements. I love them. While I do wish there was a way to turn off the settlement attacks, it adds a realism to the game. I do wish I could actually make a player home where I wanted to and not just in pre determined areas. But it brings life to the world.
Armor and weapon modding. I love this. I'd rather have this then weapon and armor degrading any day of the week. I do miss the old raider armors though. They had some pretty wild stuff.
I didn't think I would like the new VATS but I love it now. The fact the enemy still moves including those around you gives it more of a sense of urgency then a simple pause in combat.
Can't wait for the creation kit to come out. But loving the enthusiasm I see from the mod community. Even without the kit, some good mods are out there. And the game is easier to mod. previous titles were not easy. at least for me.
I would put it in another category. In F3, I definitely wouldn't call it the same. You had a few cliffs and hills to give elevation, but it is largely two dimensional, in the sense that you can bend or fold a piece of paper, but anything on it is still on the same 2d surface- only at a different angle, for lack of better wording. Then you have the dish array/ Tenpenny tower/ Washington monument types of places, where you're loaded in an area that is for all intents and purposes its own cell.
Downtown in fallout 4 is much more of a 3 dimensional playspace, particularly with jet packs.
The Pitt did a pretty decent job, I guess.
I wonder if how Quincy plays out depends on where you attack from.
I definitely remember shooting people who were on the rooftops. I had a blast with that battle.
It all depends on your imagination, if you have none there will be less RPG elements but if you have an active one, the game is ripe with RP
That reminds me. Their games have always had beautiful skies, but they've really outdone themselves with Fallout 4. The skies look fantastic. As someone who's lived all their life in a desert, I can forgive the Mojave Wasteland for not having any weather - but I'm more disappointed by the lack of a proper desert sunset.
Combat system: a ballanced VATS and weapons customization
NPC have also good move sets that make feel the fights more dynamic.
Power Armors and their fusion cores/spare parts make feel all much more realistic that previous FO
Level design that allow different tattics base on your character, but also multiple ways for reach an objective.
(verticality)
I like the female voice, hate the dialogue system, 4 options who mostly have 1 or 2 impacts on the next slide, this is nice as you have lite idea that you will say. (this was easy patched)
Outside of this I miss the FONV companion command system from FONV, minor issue is no holstered weapon.
Outside of this an clear improvement all over.
Yep. I thought I would hate the new system but it's much better
Nice way of looking at it, I still havent touched jet packs, might give them a go based on your experiences.
Can you imagine how much more vertical spaces are going to present themselves in the next TES? Kinda exciting, especially if they can tailor their AI to take advantage of it slightly better.
For Quincy I was pinned into a position near that shed located between the Atom Cats and the highway, so it could have drawn the enemies away from their usual space. I did enjoy making my way up to the overpass, but the rooftops above Quincy where empty in my case. Might try a more direct approach next time I hit the location (too bad it doesn't respawn from what I've noticed either so its gonna have to be during my next playthrough).
The crafting. Oh my gosh the crafting! It's what I always wanted in a fallout game and tbh nearly every game as i'm a religious fan of crafting in games. Even trying to make my own in Unity atm which FO4 actually drove me to get up off my bum and do it.
Post. She is so much more mature now.
No comment on CB except to say that I will switch stations whenever a video or a song of his comes on. Does have some cool ink though.
