Minutemen have stopped giving missionsquests

Post » Fri Feb 12, 2016 5:48 pm

Hi everyone,

In the patch notes it said that the Minutemen missions have been fixed. Now, I occasionally receive a mission to defend a settlement. The mission to set up a settlement at Zimonja, Coastal Cottage, Starlight Drive in seem to be missing. Looks like Bethesda went to the extreme from what seemed like one every few minutes, to none at all.

I talk to Preston Garvey, heck I even talk to the Radio Freedom broadcaster hoping for a mission. Alas, none to be had. I hope there is a fix for this also.

Any ideas on how to 'officially' open a settlement would be good.

I know I can set up a beacon, etc but it does not seem the same as it was.

Heh I don't know how to fix your problem, but I think most people wouldn't mind that bug. Is Preston in a coma?.

It might depend on how many settlements you have established.

Those particular ones you mention can be claimed by clearing out the existing foes.

When you have enough to satisfy the minutemen quests perhaps they don't give you any more and it's up to you to claim those ones.

Also I know you can be directed to clear one of those out by a settler at a particular settlement.

As they say ,the minutemen quests weren't completing properly.

There were a misunderstanding. MM never had any radiant quests (as in radiant understand with no ending repeating quests). When we look into some wikis factions info, you may see radiant quests for MM. Not correct. It was not meant to repeat. When you have done the needed settlement stuffs, Preston or Radio guy will not give any more quests. This is what I understand with Bethesda's fix for MM questlines. BoS and The Institute do have radiants so long as youre friendly term.

It is not a 'bug'. The continuous Minuteman quests with settlements was fixed in the 1.13 patch recently.

This happened to me even before the patch. For something like a month of in-game time, Preston would not give new missions, settlements did not get attacked, and Radio Freedom was "all quiet". Then, last week, he suddenly opened up again and I got hit with a deluge of quests and settlement attacks. So I did them all, going from level 91 to 94 and... Preston stopped giving quests again.

All before the patch. He still has no quests to give after the patch.

Incidentally, LC Kells stopped giving me the quests to take BoS Squires out. He says "let me know when you're ready" but then dialog ends. I was upset by that because man were those great for grinding out XP. Happened long before the patch and is still not fixed.

I liked doing the Minutemen quests. Yeah, it's stupid that the same person keeps getting kidnapped but... it's XP and respawned loot in the target locations.

If all you want to do is get new settlements, most of them you can get without going on a quest to do it. E.g., if you want Zimonja Outpost, just go there, kill the raiders, and activate the workbench. You don't have to be told to do it.

Otherwise, I think all that happened was that the frequency reduced. Go do other things for awhile and you'll probably get another quest.

Me too. It doesn't mind I got these repeating MM quests. Once, before the beta (today the official version) I could done 11 radiant quests at the same time, Alot of xp. There are radiant quests that only gives caps (so they don't count towards these xp quests).

All ya got to do is goto anyplace that is settlement capable and do whatever to get the workbench and then setup ur recruit tower and defense and crops and ur good to go .

tho is advise able to return after awhile and make sure is enough beds and such for settlers .. tho I do imagine u know all this . ya never know a settler may come up to ya and let ya know they have a problem with something for ya to do and is good XP .. and also keep an eye out for the Oberland needs help defending popping up . or never know maybe another of those ..

I am learning all kinds of new stuff with this character I got by NOT joining any faction but yet being friendly with them . they even have stuff that needs done .. ( my main character is lvl 98 and yea I completed all the quests )
