So i've about 5 settlements made so far with about 1-2 living in the smallest of those. I also have to deal with settlement attacks randomly in which case I have to rush to the settlement to help with the defense.

So this one time, a couple ghouls attacked a settlement but I turned up pretty late and both the settlers living there had died. I was really pissed. I'm hoping they would re-spawn in some days or that settlement will be re-populated again as there are crops that need tending. So, long story short, do dead settlers re-spawn. Or, if not, can new settlers arrive in their place? I'm not that far into the game that I want to keep increasing my settlements. Its a drag to look after so many...

You will need a recruitment beacon in the settlement to repopulate it. If you already have one then it will repopulate over time.

A recruitment beacon? Haven't heard of that, sorry...Is it available from somewhere specific?

Its in your build items, under the power section, needs to be connected to a generator to work.

wtf? Settlers CAN die? I have never seen one of my settlers die... they always go down but they stay in sitting position as if they're invincible.

heh heh...yup! I had an attack on Oberland once.....2 of the 3 settlers got killed. I finished the other one off cause..you know....I didn't want them to be lonely.

I think settlers who originally resided in the settlement can die whether they have name or not.


I don`t think radio recruited settlers can die though.. unless u kill them.

Sure they can! Then you can recycle their belongings and use the body for fertilizer. I find my junkyard dogs appreciate the snack treat, or Strong, he always appreciates a hearty lunch.
