Patch 1.03 Fixes I love

1. Melee weapon damage fix


..Call me ignorant, but I totally did not know melee damage perk was glitched.

I started going melee only after I maxed my melee damage perk, and I was using unarmed mostly before that.


After the patch.. my melee weapon damage has been effectively increased by 100%.


Kremlin`s tooth does about 300 base damage.. and super sledge is near 500.



I always thought melee weapon has much lower damage compared to unarmed weapons due to wider availability & ninja sneak attack doing 10x damage.



....After patch, I can see my beloved Deathclaw Gauntlet is nothing but a rubbish junk....


Going unarmed look extremely stupid after patch... but I finally get to enjoy 250 base damage shishkebab.




2. MacCready Headshot glitch


This glitch was just horrible.. I didn`t get his perk until I became level 75 so I enjoyed the plenty combat without it.



This glitch was making game too easy. It was making many weapon mods meaningless.

It also rendered number of perks completely pointless.



Now it`s fixed I don`t get to feel bad for headshotting enemies in VATS.


I actually feel great about using VATS enhanced legendary weapons, and using guns in the combat is finally fun again.



3. Settlers assignment icon



This one goes without saying. We can finally tell who is doing work and who is just making mess all over the floor.


I also love the fact the companions such as Piper & Curie can finally work as well.





Anyway, I love most fixes in new patch.



There are still tons of glitches that have not been addressed yet...



but I can actually enjoy this game quite a bit longer with those 3 fixed.

I'm looking forward to seeing the fixes, myself. I had the patch installed, but have yet to get the time to play. Assigning settlers properly will be very helpful. I also wonder if Preston has been fixed so he can be chosen as a companion and traded with after "Taking Independence". The description in the initial patch release notes seemed to hint that this was to be fixed. Correct me if I'm wrong!

What do you mean Piper and Curie can finally work? If you mean they do crops in their past time, then I assure you it's been like that.

I play on PS4.


My Curie, I could not assign her to any work and she always played at bar drinking and chatting.

Now I can assign her to scavenging station.. and I love seeing her walk around with cool weapons loaded. lol


My Preston seems to calm down a little bit too.

I went to yesterday to get some Minutemen quest out of him.. and he gave me NONE !!!!! It never happened before... :ahhh:

Hmm. I (also on PS4) haven't been so.... happy, with this patch. I know the melee changed a ton for ya (awesome) but I don't use it. I still have multiple problems with settlers and the draw distance thing is killing me. Haven't went near Preston yet, but the second an artillery strike ended I got a call over the radio !

I'm hoping they churn out lots of little updates with the odd new feature often, rather than one big update every six months or whatever their usual time frame is.


I'm loving the settler icons though, credit where credit is due. Now all I have to do is ring the bell and I can see very simply who's doing what. Should of been in original game though.

Yes. Previously I'd dump followers at a settlement and later find them making themselves useful.

Strong always claimed the chemistry bench, so I'd have to make 2.

In my current game Nick and Piper are on guard duty. It says Danse is assigned to crops but he just stands near my town clock all day, goes to the bar later then stands on his auto-assigned bed all night, lol. I can't assign him to a guard post or anything but it doesn't matter.

Shaun is now a mutfruit farmer. He never sleeps, or eats, or hangs out at the town clock. At least he's easy to find :)


One thing I like about the current patch is being able to hear the weather outside while inside, in an interior cell.

There's lots more but that and settler icons stand out for me :)
