iPad- Game Horribly Broken

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:36 am

I downloaded Fallout Shelter last night on my iPad Mini and the game is "throw against the wall in frustration" broken. Here are all the issues I've experience since starting to play the game. There is no exageration.

PROBLEMS:

1.) I've not been able to get the game to run for longer than 10 consecutive minutes, every time I play.

2.) More often than not the game crashes before or during the initial load screen.

3.) In fact, I haven’t been able to play the game for the past several hours because it crashes on the load screen. I don't even have the ability to create a new Vault number because it crashes before the menu loads. UPDATE: Restarting the iPad eventually fixed the problem and I have access to my initial Vault. I did have to restart multiple times however.

4.) It crashes when Dwellers mate. I've succesfully mated Dwellers several times in the past, but mating was just initiated when playing the game last caused it to crash hard.

5.) It crashes when Dwellers give birth.

6.) It crashes when you Rush production on a room.

7.) It crashes when you build a room or elevator.

8.) It crashes every time you try to accept multiple people as a Vault Dwellers, and half of the time you try and move consecutive Dwellers into different Vault rooms. Something that becomes extreamly damaging if a room is under attack or on fire.

9.) It crashes if you click on anything before the full animation for the previously thing you've clicked on is complete.

I would classify my frustration with this game as extreme. On numerous occasions in the last 24 hours I've been locked out of the game, only to finally get back in and have all my resources flat-lined n the red. I've also, twice, had half of my Dwellers die from some infestation, raid, or fire, that I was unable to attend too because clicking on anything causes the game to crash. Who knows what's going on with the game right now, since I can't get in. I imagine every single person is dead.

WHAT I'M USING:

I'm on an iPad3 which is fully updated and running OS 8.2. The App Store says you support my device.

This is pretty disappointing considering how much I've thoroughly enjoyed the game when I can actually get it to work. It's super addictive, visually appealing, and filled with a lot of excellent humor and design aesthetic. It's awesome that you've given it away for free and I look forward to dumping a ton of time in to my Vault leading up to Fallout 4. It's just blows my mind that Fallout Shelter is a game made to be super fun and addictive, yet is so insanely broken.

Please fix it.

Same issues on several devices.

I don't know if it could help, but all my IOS devices running italian language. And it's the only big difference they could have against developers and tester devices.

I've had most or all of those experiences at one time or another. Ipad 2, updated. So far two vaults crash if I tried to load them, worst issue seem to start between 22-25 dwellers.

OP, which iPad mini are you using? If it's the 1st gen, it's got the same processor as an iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. I would expect both of those devices to choke on something like this.

I'm running the game on an iPad 2 with iOS 8.

With 43 dwellers in my Vault, I've never had a single crash.

I know of folk struggling on a iPhone 4S.

Funny how some are having issues and some are not.

Is there technical support for FOS?

My guess is you're playing on a device they don't support. The iTunes Store page says it needs at least an iPhone 5, iPad 3, or iPad Mini 2. What iPad model are you using? If it's not one of those or better, chances are you're SOL.
