The support feature says this bug was fixed in a patch, but I must assume they mean the iOS version because on Android I have encountered this issue. I had two separate bedrooms with a diner in between them, I destroyed the diner to put another bedroom there and make a mega-bedroom. It has been about 7 hours with no birth now. I have tried renaming her, assigning her to a different room, etc.

Is the issue persisting? It's entirely possible they wouldn't have had the baby in that amount of time.
