Hi everyone.

So I can see by looking at the perk chart I can pickpocket equipped items with a rank of four. Does that include armor? And if I remove someone's armor and plant some other armor on them will they equip it or wander around naked for the rest of the game?

I fancy some Brotherhood Initiate Fatigues, for some reason you can't buy them and you're not issued with them when you join. For role playing reasons I don't want to strip a dead Brother so I thought I'd try pickpocketing a set (as laughably inplausible it seems to be able to do that). But I'm not sure its worth the two perk points (I'd get the first two for the grenade trick) and I don't want to invest the points and find for some reason I can't take that particular armor or its really difficult or once taken the guy wanders around naked for the rest of the game which would be stupid.

So a few questions.

Are there other cool (and at least somewhat plausible) things you can do with rank four pickpocket?

Has anyone tried pickpocketing Brotherhood fatigues or would someone mind trying so I know its possible?

Once deprived of their armor will they equip another armor you plant on them?

It's only good for stealing unique npc clothes off of vital npcs. So like the tattered dress and possibly Maxson's coat

Maxon`s belongings cannot be stolen unless hacked by console.


...and unlike previous FO3 & NV... NPC will not equip clothes on their own.


If you steal their cloth... they will stay naked for the rest of the game as far as I can tell in FO4.

I've pick-pocketed BoS (suits, power armor, etc, with no problems. But yeah, they'll just be naked from then on.
