Just started playing a couple days ago and had my first couple explorers go out and find stuff. Then when I called them back, I tapped "collect" and they entered the vault, but none of their stuff did. I know I had space for more clothing and weapons. However, I was full on stimpaks and radaways. Why did I lose all that sweet sweet loot? I have another explorer coming back soon and don't want to lose it again.

I'm replying to my own post , maybe someone can help. I have a bunch of people ready to come into the vault after exploring. I tapped collect on the one with the least stuff and all their stuff disappeared. I guess it was automatically sold because one of my objectives is to sell things and that popped up showing that I had sold the items. Of course, I actually wanted to use them, not sell them. Also, the 'collect' button was red and is still red for the other explorers still waiting outside. I don't know if that means anything. This game was fun and had me hooked but I guess this is the last time I play it, there's no point if I can't even collect loot.
