"surviving 9 Deathclaws attack" - not always countin

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:22 pm

Hi,

I'm on the "survive 9 deathclaw attacks with no casualties" objective, but have found that several times I've successfully fended off an attach without it counting. I'm quite confident that there were no causalities. It seems to count sometimes (I'm on 6 of 9, but I've completed more like 10) but just had it not count one again.

Frustrating because it takes forever for them to show, isn't always easy to do with no causalities, and then it still doesn't count!

I haven't noticed any pattern as to when it does or when it doesn't. It gives me the little update screen whenever it does.

Next time I'll probably just skip, but now that I'm at 6 of 9 I want to finish for the lunchbox.

I've not seen this happen on any other objectives that I can remember.

(I'm on 1.2.1 on IOS)

I think with the 'Survive X attacks with no casualties' it only counts a survival if you do not use any stimpaks during the attack.

Quest objective did not update again.

Deathclaws attacked after I resolved a disaster in which some of my dwellers died (death room). Did not have time to clean up the bodies.

Dead dwellers that died recently before the attack probably prevent objective from updating as the game presumes they died in the attack.

I have a survive 9 mole rats attacks and I used stimpaks, it counts.

I think that is a bug. There is a lot of bugs in this game. Hope it will be fixed later.

Hopefully it won't glitch out and reset totally. I've had that had too many times.

Happened again. Did not have any dead dwellers before, during and after the dc attack yet the objective did not update at all. Did not use any stimpacks either.

7/8 - was really hoping I could finally finish the objective after having it active for a week.

Happened again.

Objective does not update if you have dead dwellers from before the attack happened.

Hi, has anyone been able to finish this objective? I have it right now, "Survive 7 deathclaw attacks with no casualties", and I'm stuck on 6/7. I have all fully maxed special people on the top floor of my shelter, and can kill the deathclaws without trouble using NO stimpaks and not suffer a dweller death, yet even though I have gone through 4 more deathclaw attacks (totaling 10) they won't count. It still sits on 6/7. I hate to delete the objective because it is for a lunchbox, but it's been up there for 3 days with no joy on counting any of the last 4 DC attacks. Is it bugged? Thanks.

Same for me. Still on 6/7 and I keep meeting the objective with no reward. Frustrating since this isn't exactly the easiest objective to complete.

I have a theory, and a potential workaround, although I have no way of proving it anymore (finally got my last objective point). I suspect that the game is counting any deaths from any incident while evaluating this objective. Meaning if someone dies in a fire, or a radroach infestation for example, whether you revive them or not, the deathclaw attack objective will count that as a death, and end up failing.

This should be pretty easy to test. Rush a room until someone dies. Revive them. Then provoke a deathclaw attack by repeatedly opening the vault door (send dwellers to the wasteland, then bring them back in). If you pass the objective yet you don't get credit for it, it suggests (but doesn't prove) that the game is counting the previous death as part of this objective.

If that holds true, do this... exit to the Main Menu. Close the app. Completely kill the program entirely by double pressing the home button on your iPhone or iPad. Then go back into your vault, and provoke another deathclaw attack (make sure no one dies before then). If you get credit for passing the objective, then we've found our answer.

Unfortunately, I can't do this test myself since I finally managed to pass the objective. So if anyone else wants to try this and post back, I'd be curious to see if that solves this issue.

Has anyone else noticed the frequency issue with this objective?! I used to get attacked my deathclaws multiple times each day. As soon as this "survive 7 deathclaw attacks with no casualties" objective became available, I was only attacked by deathclaws 1 time in about a month. I did everything to prompt deathclaw attacks (radio room and opened the vault door repeatedly), but still no attacks. So finally I cancelled the objective, next thing you know... BOOM deathclaw attack.

I also have this frequency issue with other objectives too... Put out 40 vault fires... Now I get radroach infestations twice as much... Rush 40 rooms successfully... Now I start failing 10x on 7% chances... Etc.

I've gotten this object twice in the month and completed it. I do experience not getting credit for no casualties. I've used stimpacks in all attacks. Yes, very frustrating when it doesn't count.
