Training rooms worth upgrading?

Are the training rooms worth upgrading? Does anyone know just what the % is that speed is supposed to increase?

I tried upgrading a tier 1 game room into a tier 2. When I started, 3 of the 4 dwellers had 21 minutes remaining. When I finished, it was 20 minutes.

Is it just the training room, or does the speed difference only apply after it's been upgraded?

The change is effective versus new training cycles. They do not affect training sessions already in progress.

Thanks!

Btw, related question, but will wearing suits related to the trained skill increase the time it takes? Should I strip them down when they train?

outfits haven't affected my training times. I believe it is only affected by the base stat.

Is it still worth the caps to upgrade the training rooms? Also, is it worth combining rooms? I've just been fitting them around my production rooms, which are all in groups of 3. I was advised it wasn't worth the caps to upgrade training rooms, but I'm not sure if the source was aware that the time didn't change until next cycle. Thank you!

For some reason I actually find my production works work better as rooms of 2 and not 3. Im not sure why.

In regards to your question, I also have my training rooms (only singular rooms) clumped next to each other in a row. Have upgraded a couple of them and noticed a few differences. Basically when I get new baby dwellers as soon as they mature and hit coffee break time they are all shove into 'day care' = training rooms for a while. Sometimes I even forget they are there.

In this run I havnt send a single person from Vault 87 on a Wasteland run.

Yes, it is worth upgrading training rooms when upgrading higher special status.

I noticed that before i upgraded a room, a dweller is training in progress, with 5 hours and 20 minutes left. After upgrading, waiting time is reduced to 4 hours and 30 minutes.

the really biggest noticiable difference in training times is in the 7-10 range.

non upgraded, it takes like 24 hours to go from 9 to 10, fully upgraded, it takes about 19 hours.

also merging the rooms allows you to fit more people in the room at once, and the more people in the room at once, it shortens the timers a little more.

i had a medium training room and a large training room and i put 10 guys in them. they all had the stat level. at some point near the end, when their stats were like 8 or 9 i forget, i looked and the guys in the medium room had 13h48m while the guys in the large room had 13h16m.

I think the training times are modified immediately upon upgrading the tier of the room. For instance, please do the math (because I don't like calculating percents) if had a dweller who needed 11h 48m to complete a training cycle, and upon upgrading to the last tier, she only needed 10h 58m, that's pretty significant - what, like a 7% change? Not great with mental math, sorry.

As a side question though, because I'm confused by the training rooms, and I hope this doesn't deviate too much... Does training of new attributes affect their happiness in their originally assigned job? Is it better to assign them the relevant job to the attribute? For instance, a dweller has 3 perception, and likes water treatment, but I train her strength to 8, will she now like power instead? Is there a calculated happiness difference now from one job to another? Thanks!

Edit: there, not their ;)

I agree with Femaiden. To train a Special between 1 and 4 the difference isn't significant. I am only up to 5 in training specials and for 5 there is about a 42m difference between a teir 1 room and a teir 3 room. I don't have exact times for higher level stats yet but I am trying to record the times in my https://github.com/Sharlikran/fsdoc/blob/master/README.md. To try and get it as accurate as possible, I only record the time once I click "LVL" so that I know the timer is just starting.

i dont thing stats affect happiness in jobs. they gain happiness by successfully room rushing.

however, in that sense, the stats do affect it indirectly, by increasing the success rate of room rush, so you are more likely to be anle to raise their happiness that way

i always try to upgrade my training rooms to shorten the timers, however, this may sound contrary to my previous post, but if you are willing to wait longer, you will eventually max out everyone's stats anyway and once eveyone is maxed out, the training rooms won't get used anymore. i dunno the actual math, at level 3 it seems to go like 22m, 1h12m, 2h30m, 3h40m , 5h, 7h, 11h, 14h, 19h..thats like almost 4 days. level 1 rooms might take an extra day to finish. in the end, everyone will finish eventually so you decide, do you want them sooner? or later?
