Return From Wasteland all Weapons and Outfits Gone

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:13 pm

So I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I send my dweller into the wasteland. When they return, the game automatically sells everything they have found. It's really annoying when that happens because they may have 10 outfit/guns and then once I press "collect" everything is sold. There's no option to sell the items it just sometimes happens automatically. It's happened to me about 3 times. The only reason I even realized the items were being sold is because I had an objective to sell six outfits/guns and it was fulfilled once I "collected" them. Otherwise it seems like they were just disappearing. Anyway, I was wondering if it was because of storage. In my vault I had plenty of available storage because every new outfit or weapon was equipped. So I had at least 10 storage space at any given time because there was nothing that wasn't being used. But I am wondering if the storage count includes the items that are equipped. But the storage theory is just a speculation. Any ideas to why the game would automatically sell my items found in the wasteland???

As mentioned in my guide you can sell things from the adventure window while standing in from of the Vault Entrance. Please look at the screen shots in my guide because it shows a small graphic of a bottle cap when the items will be sold. You also have to sell items if your Storage is full. I have adventured many times testing Special stats to determine how they benefit the Adventurer and I have never had the items sold automatically. However, in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1521970-exploring-items-not-gained/ the player had been looking at the items to see what the Adventurer found. He was excited with some of the items found so he pressed Collect. Well doing that just marked them to be sold. There is no bug. Either your storage was full or they were marked to be sold. The other poster decided to never inspect the items. I say, just pay more attention so that they are not marked to be sold. If you do mark them with a bottle cap to be sold you are not stuck. It can be toggled. When it's a bottle cap just tap it again and it will be the icon of the item and then it will go to your storage unless your storage is full. When your storage is full there is a red background. All discussed in my guide under Adventuring in the Wasteland.

Thank you for your help, this is good information. The thing is, I would have had to select all of the items in order for all of them to sell. It's impossible for me to have accidently sold 10 things. My items disappeared like 3 different times without ever turning into a Caps icon. And the storage rooms are always empty because I have everything equipped. This is why I was wondering if the storage counts the equipped items as well. I think by me just viewing the items they sell automatically. I think I have to just press collect without scrolling through otherwise it will sell everything. This is how to prevent it but I still don't understand why it happens. I think it may be a bug, maybe the items are marked but the coin is not showing up. Maybe you can add to your guide that if you look at the items before collecting they will all be sold, because I've stopped looking through them and just select collect and it hasn't done it again. And I believe the other post you just referenced confirms this as well.

if you are tapping on the items to look at them before collecting, you may not realize it but you are actually telling the game to sell them. it toggles them to be auto sold. when people come back, don't touch anything, just hit collect.

Normally I'm not that sympathetic of things or that patient. However, I do sympathize with your situation. You feel you could not have selected all ten things and are wondering why are they gone. I have no answer for you. I just feel it's related to something else. Even now that I have about 125+ Dwellers I am experiencing lag due to all the excessive animation. Something is causing it for sure but I can't reproduce your issue nor have I ever had your issue. There is only one version of the software and there probably isn't any way for it to be a bug for your device but not my iPhone 5s.

Yes, this is what I have been doing. I just don't look at them anymore. I think the problem is there's no caps icon that appears so there's no way for me to know that they are selected to be sold. even if I wanted to toggle them back to keep them how would i know they are toggled back if there's no indication? That's something else they can include in their update: Just making it more obvious that all of your items are about to be sold. Or have a notifcation like 'are you sure you want to sell these items?' Or at least make sure the caps icon is showing up! lol. it took me 3 times of losing a bunch of stuff and then coming to the forums to realize what was happening.
