Zero crashes after update...until I started dancing

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 9:55 am

I honestly had no idea what anyone was talking about with regards to crashes after the update.

Today I tried to go after a "15 couples dancing" Objective and have had continuous crashes (every 5-15 seconds) since.
I'm currently on about my 13th 17th crash in less than 6 10 minutes (reload time accounts for the remainder of the time).

The only things that have changed for me are:

1) Greater than zero dwellers in living quarters

2) Couples dancing

3) Couples getting pregnant [This is actually when it all started--I was aiming for 0 pregnancies and around 6 or 7th dance one of the couples just couldn't wait]

4) Zooming between the 2D and 3D view a lot more than usual. 99% of the time I'm in full zoom-out 2D mode...I only zoom in for Deathclaws and to pick up Raider loot.

The crash generally occurs when I try to collect resources.*

* Since I can't collect resources, my reserve bars are dropping precipitously, or I would just stop clicking them.

[Note: I'm on an iPad 4/Retina running iOS 9.1]

Now the game has reached the point where after load:

1) It announces that I have reached 12/15 couples dancing (I've been at this stage for the past 10 reloads or so).

2) I try to scroll down and to the right.*

3) The game immediately crashes.

I haven't even clicked on anything, no dweller, no room, no icons. No attempt to zoom in or out.

* I've also tried collecting resources without scrolling.

Game crash is now approximately 1 second after load.

I just reached my 25th crash and my reserve bars are close to the break even level. [Each successive load creates a drain on resources]

This means any further attempts to load the game will start killing my dwellers.

In other words, I've reached unplayability for this vault.

[Edit: Well, it's obviously unplayable either way, but I mean now I can't even afford to check to see if the game works.]

I installed iOS 9.2 to pre-empt that suggestion, on the off chance that anyone ever reads these or attempts to solve these support requests.

I've also tried several soft restarts and reboots. (The iPad doesn't offer much here).

I read elsewhere that someone tried a cloud save and uninstall/reinstall and it didn't work, so I'm not bothing with all that.

I also stopped touching the game at all, no swipes or touches of any kind.

It still crashes after 1 second.

I'm close to 30 crashes in 30 minutes, including all the fiddling with the OS and restarts.
