Can a dweller have more than 10 of a SPECIAL stat?

I've been wondering,

Although the training cap of the SPECIAL points is 10 for every dweller in each stat, can you actually use outfits to make it higher? I ran some tests, but they seem to have shown different results:

1) Assigning a dweller with more than 10 points in a certain stat to a room which is dedicated for that stat still shows "10" points will be added to that room instead of, for example, 12 points.

2) in a power generator room, I've quickly changed the clothes on someone that had 8 Strength points from clothes that give +3 S to +2 S. After changing, time was added or deducted from the production timer appropriately.

3) Doing the same thing I did in test #2 in a kitchen with Agility clothes, the production timer did not change.


I am mostly curious about the luck stat while exploring though, because I made a person who is dedicated to bringing caps from the wasteland. He has 10 luck and I gave him a suit that grants +7 more luck on top of that. I would like to know if that suit actually helps him while exploring or if I should equip him with a different suit.

This never worked in any Fallout and I see no reason for it.... If you managed to max your dweller you are badass and don't need any boosts, let him fight Super Mutatnts in Comedian Outfit! :D

YES! Dwellers DO may have more than 10 of any stat by wearing an outfit.


The reason you did not noticed any effect in food room may be the low efficiency (more summ of stat in certain room - less time reduction)

Try it in empty food room.


Don't know about wastelands though.

I assume that if it applies anywhere inside the vault it would also apply in the wastelands.
