Game Crash Fix For Android.

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 7:39 pm

I think I found the solution to the problem of the game crashing. It works for me so i'll share it here.

I had a newer phone and a old tablet. The game crashed after the loding on the phone, but worketn on the tablet.

Both had 512 ram, Android 4.2.2 and 1Ghz x1 CPU.

I have tried many things to play on my phone but nothin helped. There was one difference. The tables was freshly reseted - No Updates to anything.

Finally i decided to uninstal the updates to the application "Google Android Play" (Or something like that) which the game uses.

And now it works. No crashes, no lag. (least at the beginning)

It worked for me, maybe it will help you.

Hi, so this is the problem I have (game crashes and closes while it's still in the opening load screen, before I can even get to any options) but this fix doesn't seem to work. I tried uninstalling updates, I even tried disabling the google games app, it doesn't seem to have any relationship. The only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling and reinstalling Fallout Shelter itself, and I'm REALLY loathe to do that since it's likely I'll lose everything I bought and all my progress.

Contacting Bethesda just redirected me here, is there any recourse? I'm super choked.

There's a post in the support forum on backing up and restoring your install. Basically you just need to make a backup copy of the VaultN.sav files that are in Android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/.

When my game gets laggy and crashy, I reboot my phone (2x1.2GHz/768MB/Android 4.2.2) and game is smooth and stable again for a while.

And based on this, I've built a companion application that auto-backs up your game to prevent losses. It wouldn't help you move your save game to another device though; you'll need to bring that file with you.
