How many rooms for 200 dwellers?

How many rooms does it take to accomodate max 200 dwellers in a shelter typically?

How many power genrators/nuclare reactors, diners/gardens, water treatments , living quaters, storage rooms, radio studios, med bay, weight room etc..

Not exact counts, I just like to know typical range of these room count/composition to decide space allocation of overall design of shelter for 200 dwellers.

Merged multiple cell room should be counted as number of individual cells. 2 cell room counts as 2 room.

Please tell me your experience.

Well, the only required rooms in a vault are Living Quarters, Power Generation, Diners, and Water Treatment rooms in addition to the Vault door and Elevators to connect the levels. The other room types are not "needed".

If by accommodate you mean having a room assignment for each dweller, you will need 100 rooms total. This number includes the Vault Door but not the Elevators. If you don't mind some of your dwellers being on permanent coffee break and wandering around, you will not need that many rooms.

At a minimum you are going to need five triple Living Quarters fully upgraded to take in 200 dwellers. That is a total of 15 rooms.

After that, the numbers get kind of fuzzy, because production over time is based on the SPECIAL attributes of the people assigned to the rooms. If you wish to maximize production you will need dwellers with 10 in the appropriate SPECIAL attribute for each room. Assuming you are limiting yourself to the basics, that means at a minimum you will need one Weight Lifting room, one Armory and one Athletics room to train dwellers for power, food and water production.

You also have to figure that incidents cut into production. That is to say, if a fire breaks out in a Power Generation room, that room will not be producing anything until the fire goes out. If raiders attack, they will start stealing your resources (and of course, production will stop in any room that they are in) until they are killed or driven off. As a result, you will need to produce slightly more power, food and water than you can actually consume.

I have never seen a fully optimized vault running a minimalist configuration with 200 residents, but as a guess, I think it could be done with around 50 to 55 production/residence rooms, but it will be a slow build. That is just a WAG, so take my guestimate with a grain of salt.

My base has 160 pop, 34 rooms. I have 30 pregnant and 10 waiting so just adding another 3x3 Barracks would get me straight to 200. Only reason I havn't is because I'm worried my well-used iPhone 5 would bog down and wouldn't be able to use the Dweller list. Right now I have my base pretty optimized, all Resource and Barracks are 3x3, Training Rooms are all 2x3. I even moved around the rooms so that all alike rooms are next to each other. Granted doing this cost a good bit coin, but after a while this game doesn't have too many noteworthy objectives so it seemed a good idea to optimize rooms.

As it is now, all my Dwellers are employed at 34 rooms 160 pop. Only about 10 are out exploring now.

I know that the production efficency defends on room upgrade, merging multiple cellls, tier (power generator vs nuclear reactor), worker SPECIAL, safety over production ratio etc.

But I'd like to know "typical" case, not theoretical minimum. With typical SPECIAL, room size, upgrade, tier, etc, how many facility room of each type do you have for near 200 dwellet shelter?

For example, dweller population 180, average relavant worker SPECIAL 6-7, fully upgraded 3 cell living quaters *8 (total 24 cells) , fully upgraded 3 cell power gen *3 (total 9 cells), diner *2 (total 6 cells), water treatment *2 (total 6 cells), partially upgraded 2 cell nuclear reactor *6 (total 12 cells) 3 cell garden 2 (total 6 cells), 3 cell water purification *3 (total 9 cells), radio studio 10 cells, training center 16 cells (weight 4 cell, all others 2 cell each), storage room 3 cell * 4 total 12 cells, 3 cell med bay *1, 2 cell sci lab*1

Give me some big picture of how the 200 dweller shelter looks like and is being operated.
