iOS - Fallout Shelter continues running in the background

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:32 pm

I would like to submit a bugfix/feature request for next patch. Specs detailed at bottom.

Description:

When running Fallout shelter on my iOS device, the app continues to keep running in the background after I click the iPhone Home button to exit the app (and say make a phone call or check email).

This causes the iPhone to quickly drain the battery, just as fast as if I were still playing it. And this app drains my battery faster than anything I have ever run on my iPhone.

As a result, my dwellers are neglected and perish quickly as if i am still playing the app and just ignoring them.

My work-around for this is to power-off the phone, and start it back up after each session. Obviously this is less than an ideal way to get any app to stop running.

I have proven this work-around over a dozen times.

I'd be happy to try some alternate settings, or pull logs from... (somewhere?).

Detail specs:

Version 1.0.2

iPhone 5c running iOS 8.3 and I was hoping it would be fixed by updating to iOS 8.4 but it has not fixed it. The problem remains.

Cellular is On for Fallout Shelter.

Installed Fallout Shelter on June 23, 2015.

Notifications within Fallout Shelter are enabled.

Sound and Music are set to full volume.

Cam Sens is set to 100%

Vault # 513

Currently 23 Dwellers

Easily drains a 100% fully charged iPhone 5c to under 20% battery within 60 minutes of actual play time. (yep that's more than 1% per minute).

And yes, I too am experiencing pregnant mommies not ever delivering the babies.

Err... you don't shut them down by double-pushing the home button and flicking the apps to close them?

And the baby delivery problem is strongly suspected to be linked to demolishing the quarters rooms that they conceived in. Have you done any of that recently?

This is defiantly what you should be doing double click your home button and close this game app on exit its easy and fast and leaves the idevice open to use.

You should also use the double home click to clear any open apps before starting this app as this reduces the chances of problems.

Just swipe them up to fully close them and purge them from devise memory.

I suspect that the app calculates a small amount of passed time even this way so its always best to have healthy reserves.

And running full volume is not helping your battery life as well I don't even have the sound on......

And I don't recomend you go over the 100 dweller mark by much or your phone will crash. If it makes it that far...

You shouldn't need to shut the app down completely. Returning to the main menu before closing the app has always been sufficient for my Vault.
