200 dwellers, now what?

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 2:26 am

Ok so I have reached 200 dwellers in my vault. Actually i'm at 198, but with 6+ people waiting at the door, I want to leave some space incase I get a legendary person from lunchboxes.

Now my 'Radio Stations' a Jammed, because I have too many people waiting outside, but I cant get any more people, without killing some. WTF!

Personally I say start killing them. Start doing Vault Tech style experiments. Lopsided male to female rations (or vice versa). Send cats out on long explores with various weapons and outfit loads (and see how long they last. If they get a groovy drop, call em back, if not, let them die. Now another idea would be to have a mechanism in there where your dwellers age off, say around 150 or 175, as you are closing in on max, they make non-special characters age off and die.

This is probably the best way to see the results. You may get something awesome from the wastes and if not then you loose a person so it's a win-win really.

I agree with the above this game is what you make it, having a strong 200 strong vault shows you can handle a vault. I could see quite quickly that just going to max population is not a massive challenge if your carefull to keep things balanced.

I started sending dwellers waiting to get in straight into the wasts, as above if they find anything good I bring them back but I am collecting stuff, training dwellers to see how long I can send them out for.

You always have the option of starting a new vault and running any experiments you can think of, like no kids or all male or all female dwelers. Or 50,s special no female workers outside catering jobs....and barracks duties....

But what ever you do this is an area of the game that could be improved on by berthsoft adding challenge type vaults a bit like sim city used to do give. For this game pre made vaults with faults or diffrent random events etc etc...

Or again from sim city disasters you can trigger you have to cope with. Above and beyond the current random events. My suggestion is these event give random special prizes for completing them.

Thank you for the replies. It is interesting to hear someone else's opinion. Personally i'm not into "crazy experiments" and I don't want to kill off my "guys" (this includes females as well).

but I might have to in order to unblock the radio station.

It sort of seems cruel to pick one person and send them to die.

Bethesda did not think this game out completely. Don't get me wrong it's a fun little game, but not much else. Which is ok, I was just hoping it would "last a little longer".

Anyway, enjoy your vaults people.

Something I'd like to see is the ability to "start new vault". Due to over-eagerness on my part, my Vault experiences a highly successful breeding program, and I'm soon to run out of room.

Being able to select 8 dwellers (the max a new Vault with only 1 non-upgraded living quarters can hold) and sending them to a New Vault would be a fun way to "continue" with a Vault that's at capacity. You'd need a free slot in your Vault list, but you'd be able to skip the tutorial this way, and you'd start with a set of Dwellers that were potentially high level, high stat, and well equipped (depending on who you select).

I can agree with you it is cruel, and I didn't want to do it, hence my suggestion for cryo rooms to continue the challenge beyond the 200 cap you don't get more than 200 active dwellers in your vault but you can start placing dwellers into cryo stasis with all the challenges that keeping the cryo rooms powered and safe requires, then add goals on the numbers of dwellers you have in them with rewards of special dwellers or items.

I didn't test the cap to see if my iPad could take it I stopped at 130 dwellers I have over 350,000 caps adding 50-100,000 every day

I have 50 spaces In my training rooms always filled I spend my time training up dwellers I have a few level one dwellers knocking on the door of max stats which will become my full time explorers soon. I will see what items they can find me....

So I to would welcome a new challenge for this game. The ability to collect all the special dwellers. Or like I said before special events that are self triggered that add challenges but good rewards.
