FO Shelter to Windows PC?

When will fallout shelter be available for the PC?

There is a petition floating around and many people have already signed it.

MOST are even willing to pay for the PC version.

There are two ways to answer this.

1. There won't be.

2. Tentatively, next month with the Android release.

Take your pick, since both are probably true.

Although a PC version could be interesting I would like to see much more depth in a PC release. The current routine isn't too bad for a tablet/phone game but I would like to see more activities in a PC release. I would think the most interesting addition could be a mechanics room where you could craft weapons and other items. They could add detritus to your finds in the Wasteland (cans, rope, metal, plastic, etc). Maybe 6-12 different kinds or so. You could then use these resources to create door turrets, wandering guard robots, special weapons, special armor, new room upgrades, etc. With the crafting mechanic it would be a nice tie in to the full game release in November where crafting will be a bigger thing now.

Thank you, TC. I agree that there needs to be a PC release because not everyone has a smartphone, let alone an iPhone. I am one of those and I want to play this dammit!

I can't afford a smartphone + have no use for one, it would be really nice to have it get a really good PC port. Like OP said people are willing to pay for it.

I'd love to see a little more depth in wasteland exploration, like having a map where you can actually explore or interact with encounters. A small turn-based combat system would be amazing ofc, but even small text-events with decisions and odds to succeed/fail based on your s.p.e.c.i.a.l's might be cool. But i'm dreaming, back to topic.

When the android-version is going to be released, you should be able to run it on an emulator like bluestacks to get it running on your pc.

Never say never ... it probably depends on how profitable the Fallout Shelter game has been ... if a lot of folks have bought lunchboxes then they may have some incentive to expand and keep the game going, even after the launch of FO4 ... if they are getting little revenue from the game then they will likely let it languish after the FO4 launch and just write it off as a marketing expense (which it has probably served them well in that respect)

On the expanded Wastelands options I would love to see FO4 be the first game to have a complimentary smartphone experience (not just the PIPBoy, which is still going to be nice) ... I would like to see a Smartphone exploration mode (similar to Zombies Run) where you would adventure into the Wasteland around where you live (like an exercise program) to find small items or caches of stuff that can be used in the PC or Console versions of the game ... but as you said, now I am dreaming too :D

I don't see why they wouldn't release it for PC. Not everyone feels like playing their games on a miniature screen and would like to play it on their large screen monitors on their computers. I know I would like to play Fallout Shelter on my PC. I would download it to my phone, but the screen is so small and my hands tend to cramp up when I play games on it. It would be much more comfortable to play it with a mouse.

I highly doubt there will be a PC version. I'd love one, but I don't see them putting much effort into this game when Fallout 4 is the real focus for PC. Also consider how much cheating would occur on a PC version because there is more freedom to manipulate things. There is no getting around the fact that they are trying to make a little cash from this with lunchbox purchases. If it gets released for PC, it will get hacked almost immediately.
