I Rescued A Kidnap Victim Before They Were Kidnapped

I was clearing Easy City Downs, and came a cross a settler tied up in the back of the office. She looked kind of familiar, and when I spoke to her, she seemed to know me. I escorted her (very slowly, as she would only walk) to Nordhagen Beach, where she resumed her former duties as a bartender and thanked me. I had no mission for her, nor any warnings or miscellaneous entries for it, so I thought, "weird," and moved on.

Many hours of gameplay later, I turned in a greenskins mission to Preston, and he immediately directed me to Nordhagen for a kidnapping mission. I traveled to Nordhagen, spoke to the farmer there, and he promptly thanked me for rescuing his wife, and directed me back to Preston.

I had a mission come up as failed. I didn't even have it in my list. Then I had to talk to Preston about it, it suddenly appeared in my list and would not go away. Once the new patch came it cleared it though.

And that's the way I like it. When the game world makes you believe that you are not the Nexus of Reality. Just wish it could be that way always. Ever since Morrowind BSG has been going the Chosen one route and it's been getting Harder and Harder to be my Character, whomever that may be. They really need to back off the Linear Characterization or the Empirical Story Telling if that makes sense..

I can tell you everything about my Daggerfall Characters life...and I haven't played since 2000. I can't even tell you my Fallout 4 Character's name and I can't go an hour where the game BLANKs my imagined Backstory to Heck. I DON"T WANT TO BE A LAWYER....IT DOESN"T FIT MY STORY!!!!!!

Anyway. If they really want to make a good Elder Scrolls 6. They need to take a page from MMORPGs and not Bioware RPGs. I want to live in the world, Not run/rule it. Just Craft the world, I'll make my own story.
