I'm simply addicted to cheating in Fallout: Shelter with that stupid glitch where you change the date on your phone a week ahead to get a lunchbox. I like the satisfaction of being rewarded because, when I play the game without cheating, I feel it's a hassle to have a successful Vault so I keep deleting the Vault and making a new one so I have a good start. So I have some good solutions that may cure this strange addiction to cheating and here's what I'm proposing.
- During the tutorial, you should be able to get more than the 5 or so lunchboxes the game gives you. I suggest that you should be able to get 10 during the tutorial because you're not always guaranteed a Legendary item - like various armors, dwellers, and weapons. You should at least be guaranteed 1 legendary dweller, 1 legendary weapon, and 1 legendary suit of power or something. You should also be able to get more frequent challenges that reward a lunchbox at least once every two days. I like to feel rewarded.
- Radio Studios should be able to haul in better dwellers, either they be rare dwellers or legendary dwellers. It takes a while in order to get the stat rooms and it takes even longer to raise those stats. It seems like getting the Radio Studio is pointless if you want dwellers since you can just have your dwellers reproduce. The new dwellers should be experienced in the wasteland because you're investing a lot of caps with getting the Radio Studio and upgrading it. A 3-room wide and fully upgraded radio studio should reel in rare dwellers (uncommon) and legendary dwellers (rare). Not everyone can buy lunchboxes so at least give us the grind.
- When dwellers are out in the wasteland for a couple of days, they should find better things than BB Guns and Rusty .32 Pistols. Despite that I've cheated, I've had many dwellers survive for almost 4 days with full stats, power armor, and a legendary weapon and they found crap. When a dweller's luck is 10, they should be finding legendary items. I've only had them find 4 legendary items in the times I've cheated. The weapons were the Burnmaster, an alien pistol, a fat man, and the Railmaster. What's the point of trying to max out your characters stats if they find garbage in the wasteland after 4 days? They should find at least one legendary weapon and set of armor after that time.
- When you breed dwellers, they should inherit stats. I've had two dwellers with full stats have a baby and the stats were mediocre and the same as a beginning dwellers stats. The only somewhat inherited stat was Charisma and it was at 3.
- I might be a bit shallow for saying this but when you first create a vault, you should be able to select the looks of the dwellers you want. I don't like have a vault full of Cailou's or neckbeards. I atleast want to start off with a dweller that represents me. You can name the dwellers so why not select the skin tone, hair style, and facial hair style?
- Lastly, you should not be able to get duplicates of legendary dwellers!!! I've cheated so much that my time was in the year 2038 because I tried to get all dwellers. I need one more and that was Colonel Autumn. I didn't get him but I got about 7 Jericho's, 7 Moira Brown's, 7 James', 5 Doctor Li's, 4 Star Paladin Cross's, 3 Alistaire Tenpenny's, 3 Harkness', 7 Bittercups, etc. There's only one of those people in the wasteland so you should only be able to get one of each. It's crazy and annoying to get duplicates because it ruins the potential to get someone else. So please fix that and add more people. I'd really like to have Dave be a dweller and many other lovable characters.
Those are the things that I think should be added/fixed with Fallout: Shelter. I can't stop cheating because I feel like the game doesn't equip you properly to begin an attack. My vault has been killed off by radroaches so many times because all I kept getting were caps, no armors or weapons.
