Does armorclothing have a value outside of S.P.E.C.I.A.L.?

I wonder because I don't see any stats given for damage or radiation protection. Other than augmenting S.P.E.C.I.A.L. values, I don't know if it does anything extra to protect the wearer,

Thanks.

I had the same question come to mind. No answer is out there that I've found. I'm curious as to how much the game mechanics are true to Fallout under the hood.

I am curious if outfits raise stats above 10. I mean it says 10 +2 for example, but does the game actually count 12 for that stat??

@slippin

When you have maxed dwellers in a room with outfits and you try to put a dweller in who has only like one or two points for the room it says -12 like your losing more than 10 for the maxed dweller with outfit leaving. This makes me believe that it does indeed boost over 10.

@op

I think it is purely stat based. Endurance protects against rads and all the other stats help evade damage.

Stats can be boosted past 10. Tested many times. I will say though that power armor with [censored] stats seems to protect better vs raiders than +7end or +3/+4 end/str combo gear.
