Anybody prepping for the new patch on August 13

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 7:21 pm

With the Android launch on the 13th and a new patch for iOS is anyone doing anything to prepare for the new attacks from Deathclaws and Molerats? I just finished maxing my last dweller for SPECIAL today (200 dwellers with all 10's). I have a large number of my 50 wasteland explorers returning today and tomorrow as well as a few explorers hitting their 60 hour marks and the National Guard Depot. I am rearranging my rooms (where possible) to make sure all the unattended rooms, like storage, medical, etc have dwellers across from them. I am continuing my purge of all weapons with less than 10 minimum damage.

Hopefully they will add some more content as well beyond those. Anybody else doing any prep for the patch or just waiting to see what happens? I also have a lot of lunchboxes built up (about 24 or so) since at 200 dwellers they have limited benefit currently.

I little bit, yes. I have about 50 - 60 level 10's with high powered weapons either guarding the vault, or exploring. I'm bringing all explorers back today and will download the patch when I confirm they are all returned and "stationed"as of now I have my first room after the vault filled with power armor troops with 3 fatman's (one a MIRV), 2 miss launchers and 1 high power laser gat.

of the 160 dwellers I have the weakest weapon is the 6-8 damage shotgun and they are all at the bottom. Really interested in seeing how far a deathclaw will make it in my vault.

I can't imagine they will be too overpowered ... right now I am able to take down the 4 raiders that come in the entrance with two dwellers ... even if a Deathclaw could make it through that they will immediately hit a power room with 6 high strength dwellers and decent weapons ... I would be surprised if a Deathclaw could make it off the first level (in my vault) ... molerats might be more inconvenient as I do still have some lower level folks that have just started leveling in resource rooms and even Radroaches can run their health down ... we'll find out tomorrow ... if they release the patch early I will download before I go to the office ... if they release it late then I will grab it when I get home ... also interested to see if there are any other new features available

I'm gonna jump into the patch and throw caution to the wind! Definitely let all know if I experience problems with my 200 Dweller vault. Kbrickley should have no worries :bunny: as well as those who have power armored dwellers at the door. Don't think deathclaws and molerats will be too bad as long as you have a heavy legendary weapon or two and alot of stims to counter with (crossing fingers). Also share sentiment of hoping for new updated features. Would be great if the duplicate legendary dwellers would cease as well as an option to buy Legendary dwellers with your caps (not to sound too slaverish), like 100,000 caps for 1 Legendary dweller (but I won't be holding my breath on this one). :bonk:

Deathclaws!?! :ahhh:

Now I'm gonna have my two top-level dwellers come back and stand guard at my door with the top shelf guns.

Is there a list of new stuff in this patch anywhere?

I have only seen the same marketing blurbs in the various Android launch articles ... like this one, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gaming/what-to-play/fallout-4-android-fallout-shelter-release-date/... I doubt we will see anything until the release notes on the 13th ... hopefully the next patch after this will be faster ... I would like to see 2-3 more patches before the November launch of FO4 since I think that will consume all my attention once it lands

Absolutely agree and right there too in hoping that we see more needed patches before FO4! Although I'll probably check my vault just 3 times a day once playing FO4 instead of 100+ times a day. :D

Now that I have maxed my dwellers I don't need to check in often ... just enough to replenish resources and insure that my explorers get recalled before they die (and of course collect their stuff and send them back out again when they arrive at the vault) ... we'll see if the new patch bumps that back up ... once FO4 hits my vault could die (actually not since I still need to work and can do as you suggest and check in a few times per day) :D ... I also play more than one franchise so the next iteration of Heroes of Might & Magic hits in September and that will distract me some until FO4 hits

I just hope it fixes some bugs. I had some legendaries out in the wasteland before I lost the ability to load my vault over a week ago.
