Misuse of Fallout Shelter Forum... guys. ;(

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 8:07 am

Guys, I've been on this forum since the game launched, and let me tell you (I'm sure others agree as well): there are way too many complaints in this "General Discussion" page. I come here looking for funny stories, cool ideas, etc.; but there are some who come here with a rage that could kill a Charizard on the first move. If you use CAPS to emphasize your anger, you're not worth the Caps my friend. (Get it?)

But seriously, if you click the [back arrow] and use the "Support" forum for your issues with the game, maybe all of us who enjoy this game can enjoy the threads too.

Peace. ????

Perhaps they could swap the position of the two forums and put the support one first in the list ... I think angry people just click the first forum they see ... the rest of us read the titles and select the forum we want ... that might help keep out some of the complaint threads ... or do more moderation and move them between the forums appropriately ... it would be nice if the general forum were more focused on strategies and sharing experiences and ideas rather than the constant rants and bug requests

But, the Fallout Shelter Support Forum is not working as pubic forum, that users can discuss problem with other people. Only the original poster of topic can view the topic thread. So it become private 1:1 support channel, not group discussion forum.

Users cannot use the the support forum to

discuss their problems, so they have nothing to do but to use General Discussion forum to do that.

"Support" is for tech support type issues like f the game is running slowly, crashing, won't install, or if a sale didn't process correctly and the person was billed but did not receive their lunchboxes or Mr. Handys. "Support" forums aren't there for moral support.

Having the forums set up such that you can't see any posts but your own, and the fact that my own post there still only has one view (my own) suggests that currently the support forums do not work. Why should we post in a forum that isn't working when asking for support, Dave?

I posted in the General forum without realizing it because I followed the instructions given to me through the app.

Not knowing any better, I clicked around the Fallout Shelter app until I found the Help button. It led me to a website at help.gamesas.com where there were different topics to view. One was an entry tiled "What can I do if I experience issues with Fallout Shelter?"

The meat of that article is the instruction - "If you encounter a bug with Fallout Shelter, please go to our official forums (http://www.gamesas.com/forum/296-fallout-shelter/) to see if other players have reported the same issue. If not, please create a new thread to describe the bug you have experienced with as much detail as possible."

Another good point Fensk, and further proof that the support forums are actually broken at the moment.

General discussion includes problems , so , yeah..... Your logic has failed. The people posting their problems in general forum just makes it easier for people to see the issues with the game instead the posts of the minority who spent 100$ and don't have the same issues as the rest so they just rave about the good aspects. Grow some balls and stop crying on the internet your feeding the trolls.

Seeing as how the support forum isn't for complaints, and there's no point in creating a Complaints forum when 99% of discussion is complaints, I think it's safe to say there's no misuse here.

Okay, good point. But I saw no reason for you to insult me. ?? Can we have a mature discussion?

As fensk pointed out, this is the forum that was directed to by Bethesda. But the logic, I feel, still lies with me. Look at the first page (or any other, as a matter of fact), it's completely overrun with complaints.

Those who are having issues don't seem to care to check that there's already been many, many posts regarding their same exact issue. They just post another thread.... :(

I don't blame everyone who's having issues with this generalization. There are those who go straight to Bethesda and save the Forum of repetitive threads. There are those who go and find the thread that describes their current issues with the game.

Look for yourself, close to 3/4 of the forum is filled with complaints. The front page is battered with "BETHESDA HELP" or "BeThEsDa YoU rUiNeD mY liFe." I was calling for a peaceful acceptance of the fact and problem; not your insults.

Finally, I have not spent anything more than my time on this game. Don't assume those who spend money don't complain. There's plenty of "give me my money back Bethesda" posts too. Also, what if people spend money on it? Who are you to judge them?

Wat... I was saying the support forum isn't the place for complaints, it's for technical issues. I've never been in it since I've never had an technical issues with the game. Didn't know that it's broken. I was just stating a general fact. The OP was talking about complaints, which made me think of things like my post griping about the frequency of raider attacks in the early game killing my vault.

Again crying on the Internets, need me to call a Waa-mbulance? The number is 9-waa-waa. Now I will insult you, previously I simply told you to grow some balls, if your offended than that is on you. And as for saying you logic has failed, that is also not an offensive statement. And for the last part, penguins.

My logic wins, you cannot defeat penguins.

I think discussing gameplay mechanics is absolutely fair game. I'm just sad to see all the ones targeting Bethesda and killing the mood of all the forum people (forumers?).

It's telling me the support forums don't exist. Or that I don't have permission to use them... Perhaps they aren't open or they are under construction? Otherwise, all complaints and bug reports are going to show up in General.

Agreed. I have a forum pushing for the end of the time travel cheat. I want Bethesda to succeed on the iOS platform so I can have the REAL Fallout game in my pocket. They have an excellent reputation for creating good games, so we just need to let them know our issues and hope they see them before they get pushed to the next page by all the repeated posts. But alas that is an aspect of using an open forum.

Jade, I'm glad we agree on something. The time travel cheat is a pesky one and a fix for it would be awesome, just as you suggested in your thread. ????

First of all, starting a thread just to complain about threads is not necessary.

If you see problems, click the Report button. We will then check it out, and move any threads that might need moving.

We can't always see every single thing that happens on the forum, so you can always send us feedback by Reporting a post or PMing us directly.

If the http://www.gamesas.com/forum/310-fallout-shelter-support/ are not working for some people, let us know. It must be a problem with the mobile versions of the forum, because it works just fine otherwise. If so, feel free to post in the General Discussion section.

Also, some people in this thread seemed to have not read the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/, or fogotten that we do not tolerate flaming and name calling here and will likely be hearing from us directly.
