App crashes 45s after entering vault

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 9:41 am

My game is crashing 45 seconds after I enter my vault, every time.

Even if I don't touch the game, it crashes. All of my resource creating rooms are ready. Periodically I've been checking the game and my dwellers seem to be reaching new skill levels at the appropriate times.

I have 10 dwellers in the field, some exploring, some returning. If I recall them all, the game still crashes at the 45 second mark.

I can't think of anything that would happen consistently 45 seconds after the game is loaded.

I've closed all applications and rebooted my iPhone- still crashes.

Any suggestions?

I tried turning Airplane Mode on. During that test, Raiders attacked around the 40s mark, but the game still crashed 5s later.

What could happen consistently after 45 seconds? My guess is some sort of negative event. Those love going off shortly after you log into your Vault.

Having the same issues. Game crashes 45 seconds after starting game play. Only happened after updating iPad Air 2 to iOS 8.4.1 with Fallout Shelter 1.1

I'm having the same issue, it seems to be tied to when the game wants to auto save. As when you try to go to the menu after loading your vault. The game will crash when auto saving.

What platform are you guys on? Since upgrading to iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 I have had no problems.... yet my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 couldn't run the game for more than a few minutes before going GURGLEGURGLEPHWEEEEEEEEEEEE and falling over.

It's definitely an app that needs current gen hardware.... and really should be labelled as such.

This has been happening to me as well since 14 August. It began before I had even applied the latest update to the app and my iOS. I had hoped that these would correct the issue, but no luck. I'm on an iPhone 5 with a fully updated app and latest iOS. Why is my autosave broken? :-(

Has anyone from BS even looked at this thread? I've been having exactly the same issue since the August 13th update. I've got an iPad 4, running 8.1.1. I've found that anything I do upon entering gets re-set after the crash - I've got a dweller waiting outside that gets kicked back out every time, my daily rating is now days behind, and all of the SPECIAL upgrades are stuck where they were on the 13th. It's very frustrating!

Nice. I sent BS an email when the problem first started and the sent back a canned response telling me to check the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem. I found this post, added my info, then emailed back pointing them to it. I just got back a response - the exact same text they sent me the first time. And they clearly don't have anyone monitoring these forums, or they're just ignoring us. I'm starting to be really not impressed with this company.

got this issue, and tired of the no feedback I asked for a refund on the 35 usd i had spended on this app. I got a full refund, plus apple gave me 2 free songs. I suggest everyone ask for refunds. Lets hit them where it hurts for them: the money!

Same problem, my vault was at 148 population and I have around 7 explorers out in the wasteland, since a week ive tried loading it...everytime it loads, after 45 seconds it crashes...I loaded it today, all my exploreres are dead T.T

I sent an email to the support. hopefully they fix this. I am sure its crashing on auto save cause even when you try to exit app and game attempts to save, it crashes to home screen.

So frustrating, I got so attached to that vault :(

Have the exact same problem on my first vault, got a refund luckily so no bad feelings yet..

BUT I have found something to open the savegame and actually read/edit it.

Not gonna discuss how, but I'm still looking for somebody with programming skills and ethics to help me out shoveling through the code....

This happened to me in my first vault on iOS yesterday. Play for exactly 45 seconds and game crashes. If I try to quit to main menu in order to force a new save, it immediately crashes. The main cause I believe is my battery going dead while playing... I was just about to quit the game due to extremely low battery when I got attacked by deathclaws. Figured I'd make sure the defenders did their thing, then log out. My phone powered down in the middle of the attack. Once I got a bit of charge back into my phone, it started getting the 45 second crash so I'm pretty sure that's a way save files get corrupted.

I had put about $30 into the game so I contacted apple to get a refund. Bethesda will not issue them so for Android users, Google is supposed to do it and if they don't, tell them that Apple is doing it for in-app purchases and that you want to talk to the supervisor. It was a relatively painless process with apple, took less than 10 minutes. Still playing on a secondary vault I had going, but not going to put any money into it... really not worth it since this game should be offline, though backing up to the cloud. The way things are now, there's too much risk for any money you put into it to be instantly wiped out by a corrupt save file.
