When you bring someone back to life with caps, their radiation damage remains. What happens if their radiation damage hits 100%? Do they turn into a ghoul, or are they permanently dead? If neither, does it let you resurrect them and then they immediately die again?

If you keep your water and food levels topped off, dwellers automatically recover energy and lose radioactivity.

You might get a lower grade for letting resources get into the red and because dwellers don't heal instantly.


In fact, I only use my medic and stem packs for quickly heal ing vital oncall staff, ie, vault door guards, or for outgoing explorers to carry.

I am aware of that Novice. However I'm curious what happens when you send someone out into the waste with 0 radaways and a lot of Stims and let him max out on Radiation damage. How does the game handle it?

I've had this happen. I was able to revive them and return them home without problem except that they have a full radiation health bar. Don't know how that's possible but it worked.

Well thanks for entertaining my curiosity Jaymondoc. Apparently you can't die from radiation poisoning. It just reduces your usable health pool.

I think somewhere in the future we will have ghouls... and Super Mutants (I know they are made by the FEV but they are radiation resistant which is why I mentioned them)... and various other radiation afflicted encounters. I think they are doling them out to keep the game fresh.

There are a bunch of things about the game that shout "OPEN ENDED GAMEPLAY... FUTURE DEVELOPMENT BY VAULT-TEC WILL BE COMING HERE... SOON!^TM "

EDIT: Oh yeah and the radiation limiting the health pool is going to be used in Fallout 4 as well. Maybe they are using Fallout Shelter to teach us new ideas about the main game too.
