Downsizing, or "How I recovered from near failure"

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 8:36 am

Through an unfortunate set of circumstances in not knowing that upgraded rooms brought harder scenarios my vault was put into a state of having nearly no food or water and 36/36 dwellers.

Everyone is at half health and radiation poisoning.

9% happiness.

Pretty dismal.

Last ditch effort I rushed water into the green

Rushed food and failed. Managed to stomp roaches.

Rushed again... Failed. Roaches run rampant.

I don't stimpack anyone.

I let them run rampant and kill half the vault.

I revive some of the better stat characters. Remove some.

Destroy upgraded rooms and the radio room.

Revive any other useful stat characters.

With the lowered number I seem to be able to support the lowered number of people.

Happiness is at 30% as they start to recover from radiation poisoning.

I just selectively let endurance based characters die and anyone without a 3 stat as well.

I now feel like a true overseer. We'll see where this goes and if it's a true recovery or just the first bell toll of the end for vault 699.

EDIT: I just realized have no clue if my dwellers left are poised to actually procreate or if they are mostly all family...
