Really really unhappy dwellers and so on ...

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 11:38 am

So my dwellers are unreasonably unhappy. Well ... the diner and waterstation works slowly, which is weird because there are many dwellers (with good competens) working there.

I guess my main problem is that the game never paus. Even if i close the app it keeps running. And you can imagine how they feel when I wake up after 8h sleeping. And to be honset, i don't have the time to look after them all day long ....

Even though they don't need to produce much food/water/energy they cant make it. The bars are always red. I know that is why they are unhappy. They are almost crying when it is time for baby making ...

I have read a lot of post about the game and how to play it. It feels like I'm doing everything right but everything goes wrong.

Any tips? Is there something I'm missing? Help!

Apparently if your phone doesn't shut the game down after minimizing it like mine does (Galaxy S6) then you have to exit to menu before you minimize to prevent your vault from starving when you go to sleep.

I have to redo my value at least 4 times before I got it right. Now they are sitting on 68%.

I am working slow this time and I am currently only has 16 dwellers

I just attack by the roaches and one dead dwellers I am waiting for enough caps to revive him.

Dead bodies will cause dwellers in the room to sit at 20% happiness. It really is obnoxious.

As Chthon said, make sure you fully exit the game or end the task and clean up any dead bodies.

That being said, nothing makes a dweller more happy than a little bow chica wow wow. Send your dwellers with the lowest happiness to the residence so they can make sweet sweet love.

Also, get a radio station and use it.

I have this precise problem. Obviously, I am assigning dwellers to their appropriate areas. Things just aren't going well; every dweller is unhappy. I'm struggling to produce resources. It's only my first play-through, maybe I should start fresh now that I know how to play. Still, I didn't feel at all like I was making many mistakes at the beginning.

Neither did I Nedved, until the waves of mole rat hordes started wiping out large chunks of my vault causing me to spend thousands of caps on resurrecting my people. It svcks because there is no feedback as to why this starts to happen.

Haha, that's rough. Still haven't had this happen yet. I probably won't for awhile, as I'm thinking about starting up a new vault.

I'm not disbelieving this at all, I'm sure that actually is a huge key to your dwellers' happiness.

But I'm not going to lie, I did this fairly early on with one couple, and they are both miserable. They went into the "bedroom" fairly quickly, and the girl got pregnant. Didn't stop their happiness bars from descending at a steady pace though. I must have gotten unlucky, or there is more to it. Both dwellers were working in areas that best suited their skills.

You might be experiencing a glitch or there is something going unaddressed, because I actually find it difficult to reduce my dwellers' happiness at all. One trip to the bedroom gets my dwellers to 100, then I toss them back to their job, and they're at 100 for days.

Make sure you are exiting the game properly, keep your resources green, address disasters quickly, and you should be good.

Unhappy dwellers can also be the result of unsuccessful rush attempts. Successful rushes will also increase their happiness.

I have three vaults running at the moment, and between those three, I have three dwellers born in the vaults. All vaults have been repeatedly rushed, and have had very little alone time with another, and all are over 90% happy.

And...uhhh...yeah, make damn sure to properly close out your game. If you don't, you will continue to use resources until you have no more...then you will not have a vault, but a graveyard.

That's how I lost my first vault.
