Radroaches, intended to be this devastating?

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 4:11 am

From yesterday... I have around 22 dweller, and I just found that the radroaches can wipe a room with 6 armed dweller in seconds, if don't pop-up stimpak like candies, they are much much more stronger than any raiders or fire, even sronger than deathclaw in my first valut (hav 75 dweller). And Mr. Handy, they're said to be super durable, dies after two or three radroach infestations.

Any possible solution to avoid such superduper rad roaches? Or it's just some bug or glitch or design faliure?

Edit: It is said that a 3-space fully upgraded room will generate such super duper roach, so I may just demolish all the rooms.

ha I just had that problem too, for some reason my dwellers has no problems dealing raiders but when come with roaches they lose health left and right. I am guessing they are radiation roaches so they are more powerful in a way?

Don't upgrade your rooms till your dwellers are a decent level and have good weapons. Threats that spawn in rooms are more difficult when the room is upgraded.

Did you upgrade to level 3 or 2? I'm still using level 1 rooms with sawed off shotguns and level 30 people.

Don't attack me, I didn't make the game. I agree with you. I lost my first vault to this and a mole rat cascade. I'm just telling you how it currently works so you can fix it. More than likely you will need to go in and delete the high level rooms and replace them with lower level ones, or put your highest level characters with the biggest guns in them and hope for the best.

You were attacked? I honestly don't think he did anything of the sort. But yes, I would imagine you are correct in your assertions of the vault.

False. I have personally tested this in my own vault and the level of the room has no bearing on the danger that radroaches/fires/molerats etc pose. Here is what I did:

I had 6 dwellers (level 25-ish) work in a power room that was level 1, and I had 6 dwellers of equal level work in a power room that was level 3. The combined stats of the 12 dwellers were more or less averaged out in S, their other stats were a bit too diverse but averaged out on roughly 22 statpoints each. I rushed both rooms constantly until I had an accident occur that was either molerats or radroach related.

Molerats did significant damage in a short amount of time in both rooms, radroaches were disposed of reasonably fast but still managed to deal over 10-15% damage to the dwellers there. The dwellers were mostly armed with 6-8dmg weapons btw.

Currently I have a suspicion that accident damage dealt by mobs (molerats and radroaches) is determind by either of the following:

1) the level of the dwellers inside the room

2) the average level of all the dwellers in the vault combined

3) the amount of dwellers in the vault

4) the amount of rooms you have.

If anyone has any of these possibilities tested out, I'd love to hear about them.

That sounds more logicl than oh yeah dont build more room.

I am too believe its those 1 through 3 causing the how many roaches in there.
