Question about Rusty weapons

I'm just curious as to whether or not people keep Rusty weapons or sell them. I have 13 Rusty weapons(one of which is my one and only Laser Pistol) and I'm not sure whether or not I should sell them. Same question applies to BB Guns.

Toss the bb guns for the objective of the day, if they are 0-1 damage weapons sell those too, if you have all your dwellers equipped with better than rusty stuff, sell all your rusty stuff - save a couple for new dwellers or however many pregnant + children you already have.

Sell the rusty BB Guns even when starting out - dwellers can do more damage with their fists, even with awful SPECIAL stats.


As far as the other rusty items go, I'd sell them as I acquired better weapons, maybe hang onto a couple of them so you can equip new dwellers until,again, you acquire better stuff to give to them.

Type of weapon (rifle/shotgun/pistol) or its quality modifier (rusty, or enhanced) has nothing to do with actual effectivness in combat. Only the numerical damage number matters. Rusty laser pistol (7) is better than Enhanced lever-action rifle (6).


Weapon type and modufier is just for joke or delusional roleplaying.


And the damage range (ex: 5-9) is also a joke. FOS does not roll a dice. Weapon is always damage over time by average value.

I hang onto crap weapons and gear in case I get an objective requiring me to sell/equip items on dwellers. Never sell stuff unless you have too much inventory, I noticed it comes in quite handy for the objectives.
