My game only crashes on my original vault.

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:22 am

When ever I load my vault that has 200 survivors in it it will crash in less then a minute, but if I make a new vault it works just fine. Why is this happening and is there a way to fix it? I have some money and time in this vault and rally don't want to lose it.

whatever device you are using might not have enough memory to support everything thats going on too many rooms and dwellers :/ is it an older device?

if its happening at the exact same time every time (probably around 45 seconds after loading) the world is probably trying to launch and incident and failing because of corruption so it crashes. is it a pre patch save file? :/ either way i'm not aware of a fix so that vault might be toast.

Unfortunately, I believe the premise that our old vaults are toast is only strengthened by Bethesda's silence on this forum. Sad. Game could have been an epic masterpiece to usher in FO4. Let's just hope we do not deal with this in November.

Try going into that vault and go to menu> main menu

I think I have the same problem. Here you go: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1532320-dear-bethesdafreezecrash-after-45-seconds-or-on-menu/

EDIT

There is a way to backup your saves. Get into your file system (depending on your manufacturer you might need to get one from Google Play, like ES File Browser) and go to

/storage/sdcard/android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/VaultX.sav

where the "X" in VaultX.sav is the number of the vault in question from top to bottom in your savegame list in-game (so 1, 2 or 3)

Copy and paste that daily/every other day to a safe location or email it for all I care, but that way you'll lose little progress and/or boxes.

This will, however, not help you in your current situation, as it did no good for mine either. Even tested it on an emulator on PC so it's definitely the savegame itself. It will help you in the future I hope...
