Dwellers standing in front of each other

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 4:20 am

One of the single most frustrating things I'm experiencing in the game right now is the tendency of dwellers to stand right in front of each other in combat. While working they all retain a nice distance from each other, but as soon as combat starts several of them will immediately run to stand right by each other - which means that A) I can't see any health bars but the one in front, and B) I can't select them to apply stimpaks! I've had a crazy number of dwellers die in molerat and deathclaw attacks, who I could have saved except that the game literally prevents me from being able to tell that their health was critically low, and even if I could tell I couldn't select the dwellers to heal them!

The game should NEVER prevent the player from being able to see dweller stats or apply stimpacks when needed.

yeah i agree. this is probably the most infuriating thing in the game i have encounterd so far... they really need to either fix it(which they wont) or add a feature to just stim the entire room

This is annoying, but what's more frustrating is when you can't move a dweller no matter how hard you try to select them. An empty room gets attacked, and there is no way you are going to be able to move anyone. If you try to scroll the screen during downtime, every touch moves a dweller....

Agreed that this needs to be changed. Either have the dwellers stand next to eachother, or have overlapping healthbars show above eachother, with clicking the healthbar means clicking on the dweller in question.

Also, its more frustrating you have to micromanage dwellers during incidents. Cant these idiots heal themselves when they fall below 20%hp? I have 60 f*cking stimpacks unused :/

Big huge unashamed BUMP, I rage quit the game this morning due to the dwellers being impossible to heal quickly enough simply because they stand in front of each other. Why not have them spaced out evenly across the room OR have a window pop up showing everyones health who is in combat and allowing you to apply stimpacks from there instead of it wasting time going to that dwellers individual character sheet.

This drives me bonkers and I will stop playing and take my microtransactions elsewhere soon if it is not sorted, take note Bethesda, ALL my friends who play this game get frustrated over this issue.

You need to be able to sort by health in the dweller list and then be able to stim from the list.

Or single click healing, YES sort by health would work well. Or how about having the health bar or the LEAST healthy dweller automatically spring to the front in a stack of dwellers standing together.

This.

A million times this.

This game is fun, but there are just a few really irritating features that make me want to throw my phone across the room. This is especially irritating when you're lagging and it's not letting you select people.

There should be a toggle switch to allow dwellers to auto-use stimpacks. They did it for explorers, why not for dwellers?

I've honestly given up playing because of this one problem... They seem to all stand so it's impossible to select the ones at the back... sometimes when you can even see them clearly... it just auto locks onto the nearest dweller to the front.

What SHOULD happen when you select a room is ALL the dweller's stat boxes should appear at the top of the screen so you can see what the hell is going on. All you need is a small picture, health and radiation. When new dwellers enter the room, their box should get added to the list. AND EACH BOX SHOULD HAVE A STIMPACK AND RADAWAY BUTTON. So that way you can keep track of who is having problems.

And yes... a FULL ROOM STIMPACK/RADAWAY BUTTON is something that should be there.

This game suffers from a very awkward User Interface. The dweller AI seems to want to stack all of them in the same place and make it impossible to heal some of them in combat. So until Bethesda fix the combat interface I don't think I will be touching my vault.... Oh and the fact that it's fully upgraded is another reason I have finished playing. Just nothing left to do but grind to get better weapons is all....and that combat UI ruins any event inside... :(

I upgraded my Athletics studio and now I'm having the same problem with the guy who does the flips. I cannot select him for the life of me because the person doing the sit-ups in front of him ALWAYS holds focus. It's annoying to constantly move like 3 or 4 people to access the one guy you want.

EXACTLY... I think there is a problem with the interface only selecting the one in the foreground unless there is nobody else in the way. VERY frustrating.

The only reason for my dwellers death. You can zoom in and view the room from angle so you will see the one who stands behind but it is clumsy and you need to be quick in case of deathclaw/high-level molerat attack. That and not dissapearing names/healthbars are the worst bugs for me and i really hope that they will be patched.

I didn't rage quit, but this was the leading factor in me saying, "meh!" and deleting the app from my iPad.

agreed. i never rage quit though. it's good thing that two or more incidents happen at the same time. that might make me rage. especially when the mentioned situation happens at the same time

I agree. It is also a problem with mr. Handy. He seems to move into the same spots as my dwellers in the room so having him makes him an added hinderance even though he helps the emergency event.
