ProductionConsumption rates

Hey guys, I was wondering how much power each room/segment consumes per minute, as well as how much food/water per dweller.

I was also wondering if there was an easier way to determind your own production per minute.

Basically, I need to know how much of each room I need.

You can use the indicator bulbs at the top of the screen as an estimate ... depending on your total capacity there is a vertical line somewhere on the bulb (that is the minimum production required to prevent shortages ... if you fall below it then you get black outs, starvation, and radiation sickness) ... at the start when your storage capacity is small that line will be close to the right of the bulbs ... later as your capacity grows the line will get closer and closer to the left side ... I generally try and keep that line as far left as money will allow (as long as you are over that line then there is no shortage) ... You could have more rooms due to storage requirements than production (I have several unstaffed medical bays so that I can store many STIMs ... but I only staff two of the rooms and rush them to fill up my total capacity) ... for awhile I had more power plants than workers and the same with diners and water plants (for the storage capacity that moved that line leftwards (I would rush the staffed rooms to fill my total capacity)

That line hardly gives me a specific number or helps with planning out a vault.

All that line gives me is "this is about how much you need vs what you have", hinting vaguely at consumption and doing nothing for production.

I didn't micromanage it at that level ... while I was building to 200 dwellers I had almost everyone in training ... I kept enough people in production so that I could leave the game unattended for multiple hours or survive a raid (the consumption bar was useful for managing that) ... once I had the full 200 and everyone trained I built production to keep people busy since sending everyone exploring would likely crash the game and people only stay happy when they are working (and rushing rooms successfully is one of the few ways to get their happiness to 100% quickly) ... you will always want more production capacity than you need since building production rooms is the only way to build storage capacity to survive raiders, deathclaws, and consumption while the game is open ... dwellers seem to consume significantly more resources when the app is open and you are in it doing stuff than when it is closed and idle so there would likely be multiple consumption rates (typically leaving the game idle overnight will drop my resources less than keeping the app open for 10 minutes selling outfits and weapons)

For Power (for example) I have 14400 total capacity ... if I leave my vault running I will see a drop of about 176 power in 90 seconds ... I have 145 dwellers in my vault and 55 dwellers outside ... in theory that would indicate that dwellers consume 0.81 units of power every minute (since there should be no impact to exploring dwellers) ... is that what you are wanting?
