Do power armors provide...armor?

Do dwellers who wear power armor survive longer? If not I rather let them wear fatigues or wasteland gear.

The only thing that provides survivability in the wasteland is endurance and level. I'm pretty sure there is no traditional "armor" in this game at all. Endurance does not help you survive inside the vault though. All armors are just clothes that add S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats and look neat.

I have found that they do, at least in vault.

Power armored dwellers verses any type of attack or infestation/fire, fair better than dwellers wearing any other type of clothing. Next best to power armor is the sturdy wasteland cloths.

I ran a bunch of tests, to see what the best setup was for surviving deathclaws attacks. I found that a room of 6 with Half power armor and Half regular cloths, all with weapons doing over 20 base damage results in the regular cloths dwellers dying each time.

I've also found that higher strength armors fair better than those with higher perception. A room of 6 power armored dwellers will show that those with lower strength stat will take more damage.

Do a search for

Easy deathclaw battles

in this forum. Lots of useful info obtained in game about clothing/armor stats with results etc.

didn't find anything when I searched 'easy deathclaw battles'. googled it too and only found complaints and a guide that doesn't really address it. do you have a link to the post or the info you mentioned?
