Invincible vault concept or vault 69

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 5:45 am

Vault 69 was a vault with 1 man and 999 women.

In lore it doesn't work out too well.

In fallout shelter it is seemingly the ultimate strategy.

The idea is to kill off all men except one who can breed with all the women.

Fill up to your dweller limit with women then get them pregnant.

All of them.

Send him out to explore the wastes.

When incidents occur the women will flee to living quarters and leave the incidents to burn themselves out.

They are immune to them, and your man is out in the wastes so he is immune to them. You could in essence do this for multiple men and simple only bring them in to heal them and send them back out to the wastes.

Since you're at the limit they will delay their pregnancy indefinitely.

You now have an invincible race of vault dwellers.

Congrats.

Wouldn't you need massive amounts of resources ... if the Raider or Deathclaws can just run through your vault unimpeded they will svck up resources the entire time they are there ... and I have never let them go that long ... what happens if they hit the bottom, do they run back up again or just disappear

They run away after a certain amount of time into their attack if they are not killed.

Funny thing is you don't really need food or water just power.

The pregnant women can't die.

In theory you could just run with power rooms, med and science labs to keep your explorers stocked.

Back when I started my vault and didn't have strong enough weapons to kill raiders, they'd make it halfway through the second level, then time out and leave. The resources they took weren't more then 10% or so, either. Assuming high end raiders are the same, this could work. It doesn't sound very exciting though. :)

There are some pretty questionable things in the game that lead me to believe it wasn't tested too much. This is defiantly one of them. I'm not sure what the logic behind Pregnant women and children not being able to die, or even fight was.
