So this is actually from my second created vault, I sent my level 25 female dweller out with 25 stimpaks, and radaways, heavy leather armor that i received from an objective earned lunchbox and a double barrel sawed off.

I checked on her maybe an hour after I sent her to check progress and didn't see anything, so I just ignored the app and let her press on.

Roughly 4 hours into the trip I check back and see the once equipped sawed off now in her loot list, and she is running with some strange gun that I hovered over to see it was a 'Tuned Alien blaster 18-20'.


I scrolled up on the journal to see what event she got it from but it was long gone, and all i have is a screen shot of the moment i realized what happened.


Is there any event before ngd that gives legendary equipment?

I have not spent a single cent on this game and have no reason to lie,

I would just like to recreate the conditions if possible.

This happened 2 days ago without my knowledge of the timed events, i just thought it was all random.

She later made it to the National Guard Depot and didn't get anything

The dweller was a rare one received from a free lunch box, her stats were S5, P3, E2, C7, I3, A4, L6

heavy leather armor was S3, E4

I have not been on a forum in YEARS.

The hourly events can give you a legendary item plus any set time event that doesn't give caps. The longer you are out from the vault increases the chance but you can get a legendary item out of the Broadcast Tower just outside the vault.

It should also be noted that the Depot usually doesn't give items (like all other timed events) and will also give rares (I got a sniper rifle from it once), but it is your best chance to get a legendary.

You're just incredibly lucky. That's it.

You're extremely lucky. Had 4 character so far reach the NGD, but no legendary on exploring yet. Luckiest runs I Max get a rusty laser pistol or something.
