Horrible customer service.

I used to love Bethesda games, but this has been ridiculous. I requested a refund of the two Mr Handy's I purchased before the game started crashing. Both Bethesda and Google customer service claim the other is responsible for issuing a refund. I'm done. Deleting the game and cancelling my preorder for fallout 4. Great job losing a customer over $2. Get your act together, Bethesda.

Do people even read anymore? It's really easy.... just follow the link they give you and you should be okay. There is a button there for refunds/etc... click... button support... click.... button fill form.... click... basically RTFM (if that expression is allowed by the admins)

It's not just you. It's a lot of people on this forum that are either unwilling or unable to lift a finger to get their money back. I feel like most just want to lean back in a recliner and have everybody be their butler. Makes me wonder where the world is going. Then again... looking at most people I already know :D

Sorry if I come off as rude but this is not the first time stuff like this comes along.....True they don't make it VERY easy, but you DO have a brain don't you?

Anyway... here, a fresh copy paste to make up for that little rant:

https://support.google.com/googleplay#topic=3364260

On that page, drop down the "refunds and returns" -menu

in there "problems with in-app purchases"

In there, go to troubleshooting first, or if you already tried every trick/option in the book, go to "option 2"; contact support

That link will get you to a form you need to fill out, including your receipt number from the purchase you made.

State clearly what the problem is and as always, stay nice.

PS Yes I agree it could be made a bit less "let's go round in circles" but that's the situation we'll have to live with... let's deal with it :) Hope that link helps you out.

Yes, I did try that. Neither party said they they were responsible. I've read all the threads regarding this. I filled out the form, with the Google play receipts, and still was told that it's not their problem. Thanks for not helping and being a rude ass.

Yes their customer service is absolutely dreadful. It even says on Google plays support site help with in app purchases is the devs responsibility. Bethesda's email support is a one answer for all bot and the forums the bot directs you too (here) aren't exactly on point. In the end though I was able to get both my refunds via a call to Google. One of the Google customer support folks even suggested filing a complaint. Anywho bug Google again (try the phone) and inform them Bethesda refuses to provide you a refund or what you paid for.

It doesn't even matter anymore. It's just $2, and I've wasted too much time on this. Besides, I know I'll still get fallout 4. I'm not going to deprive myself of a good game just because of one bad experience.

I'm just wondering, if game is played offline, how can Bethesda know if player isn't trying to cheat money back from them? All they can see is perhaps transaction when player buys luchboxes but there's no way for them to know if player has really lost them.

Let's chalk that up to good faith in customer demography. Basically, anyone that actually likes the franchise isn't likely going to "rob" the creators of it...

I had a good laugh the other day. I sent Bethesda an email saying how much I loved the game and gave them a few possible suggestions they may think about if they are looking at doing an update... then got the following email back. I guess they just have a rule set up to reply with this statement to anything that comes in?

Greetings,

If you are having difficulty loading your save file/vault, all that we can recommend is powering your device off then back on as this will clear your available system resources (RAM and cache). Try reloading your save file after powering the device on and off again.

As it turns out, that is the only troubleshooting that we can provide due to the nature of the mobile platform. Fallout Shelter is an offline game, meaning that we have no ability to alter or troubleshoot it after it is installed on your device. That is why we refer to the forums to see if there are any alternate solutions available.

As the game is offline, we cannot assist with recovering your vault, as it is also stored locally on your device.

For assistance with recovering or obtaining a refund for any lost in-app purchases from your vault, you will have to contact the support team of the mobile OS that you are playing the game on. In-app purchases are processed by the OS publishers (through the App Store/Google Play Store) –we do not have any visibility or access to purchases made on their platforms. You can contact them via these links:
