Assigning Dwellers to the right room

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 4:11 pm

Hey there. Probably everyone knows this already, but I didn't see the answer immediately on the web so I will post just in case.

I got a goal of assigning 30 Dwellers to the right room and was stuck for a moment as my vault is already optimized.

I have a whole floor of nuclear reactors with everyone wearing radiation suits. I found that changing to military fatigues or other +S clothing then dragging them to the next reactor room works, even if they have 10 S.

Dress then drag a room at once and the task is done in a few minutes. This would seem to be a reason to wear sub-optimal outfits.

Hope that is of use maybe.

I chose to X out of those events too.

Mine seemed to be broken. I too have a fully optimized vault with max dwellers with maxed stats. I would put high end gear on them and drag them to that production room for that stat and nothing happened. I also know that while dragging a dweller the edges of the rooms will change color... yellow if it isn't a great fit... green if it is a great fit... there wasn't a room in the whole vault that changed to green for my dwellers.

When I have to assign 40 dwellers... screw that... I am not going to waste a month trying to find the right rooms.

Also, when you drag them around, if the room has green corners, that's an indicator. If it has yellow corners then that's not the right room.

I used the X feature ONCE, and the game crashed. iOS 9.1

Yeah, they shouldn't be in the best gear.

Unless they are wearing a rare outfit, everyone in my vault wears handyman jumpsuits, except for the nuclear workers who wear radiation suits. The game must track the relevant stat when the goal is generated. If you can raise their max stat by changing outfit, then put them in that kind of room, it counts. I had 30 people in low-stat gear so it was easy.

(Actually the lab workers wear lab coats too but that is optimal so they can't be used...)

The GREEN highlight feature is NOT what determines their desires. I've assigned Level 1 dwellers who have 10 level stats in the assigned rooms with the right gear, and NOTHING. Even though they went from 20% happiness to 100% working in that room. Frustrating.
