Playing on multiple devices

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 6:15 pm

Many mobile games, can at least save to Google Play and load on multiple devices.

Given that Fallout is such a popular title, I wonder why this is not made possible.

I owned both Android phone and tablet.

I play my game on my phone on the move but when I am at home, I really wish I can play on my tablet given the bigger screen.

I know you can manually transfer the saved files in Android but it is a pain to keep transferring and keeping both devices in sync.

I really hope the dev can look into including this feature in the next update.

I think the idea was to be able to play the game offline.

As I see it all these games that save to Google Play don't allow me to restart game or have multiple savegames like Fallout Shelter so I don't know if that's good either. For example if I want to restart Boom Beach, I need to create new Google account?!

I have two devices and thus two separate vaults. I like the offline feature, but sometimes I do wish I could log into a vault that's at home nad not with me while I'm out or at the mall.

Probably has something to do with the game still being on when you leave the device. The game would have to force quit from X device if you want it running from Y.

Offline play is one of the best feature of this game. So I like it save game data locally. But it does not mean that it can not support multiple devices. Game may have some option to save it explicitly on cloud like google play/icloud or dropbox so that game can "move" between devices.

It may not be true cross device gaming, but much better than current local play only.

It also be insurance aginst vault data loss due to app crash.

I like the idea of a "push" save! I doubt, however, that it will work fine with the random lunchbox outcomes. If the developers would "pre generate" the lunchbox results it might work.

Lunchbox don't have to be "pre generated". Just save the seed number that is used to randomize the new Lunchbox. Then outcome of next Lunchbox will be preserved even after "cloud move" between devices. Many games with cloud upload use such technique.

Indeed, this also had the advantage that the developers could tweak the odds afterwards ..
