Where are the Deathclaws now?

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 12:51 am

Deathclaws are getting rare since the last update.

I was given an objective of "surviving 9 Deathclaws attack without casualties" last night, but not seeing any since then.

They came so often when it is difficult to beat. Now I am well prepared but they are not there. The game is becoming tricky.

You're complaining that Deathclaws-Every-Five-Minutes has been curtailed?!?!? :bonk:

Well well, as previously said, people complain anyways. If there are Deathclaws its "omg deathclaws are a pest", if not, its "omg where are my beloved deathclaws? i miss you!!"

Go figure...

Build a Radio room. Pack it with high-C dwellers, wait for 10-30 minutes and enjoy Deathclaw attack :)

Looks like finicky Deathclaws are *only* attracted by Radio nowadays.

I'm in the same boat with that objective and my radio room is filled with 10+c on all 6 dwellers. I even tried having the new dweller from a radio call run in and out of the vault door over a dozen times.

I've had this objective for about a week now and only had 2 Deathclaw attacks since receiving it. What's worse is only the first of those attacks counted even though I didn't have any casualties from either attack.

I had three vaults where the deathclaws were appearing before the patch, Populations 74, 87 and 147. They have all disappeared in my two lower population vaults but are still showing up in my 147 population vault. My guess is that Bethesda has increased the population requirement. These are normal vaults. Based on what I have read, in a Survival Mode vault they will start appearing when your population gets to around 30.

So radio rooms are now worse than useless.

It calls inferior SPECIAL-quality wastelanders, happiness that can easily be gotten simply by being a good Overseer, no XP gain for the room's operators... and now it's deathclaw bait.

I really think there needs to be a middle tier between dinky raiders and hellish deathclaws. Super mutants makes more sense for being attracted to vault radio broadcasts than deathclaws.

Unless... is it a sign of sentient deathclaws in FO4?

Same problem, hard to complete the objective as I can't force deathclaw attacks by rushing anything.

PS: Radio stations should attract dwellers with items, that would make them pretty useful.

That would be nice actually. The Raiders are little more than a nuisance and the deathclaws were really nasty.

I have a population of 184, with 3 radio centers (2 Large and 1 Medium) all held by maxed stats dwellers. I've seen two Deathaw attacks since 1.2 went live. I'm not sure why or how, but it makes me curious about the mechanics being described in this thread.

Will a radio room attract Deathclaws even if you dont attract any dwellers because you are already at 200 dwellers? Assuming its a manned radio station of course.

I think there is Sth wrong, I skipped the 9 DC box and now the 7 DC box comes right the way. It is more than 48 hrs from the 1st one but no DC attack.

I have tried with 3 radio rooms, it only attracts a lot of dwellers that maxed my population. Do not have the opportunity to kill them as I have to collect and sell 1440 items.

Looks like I will not have any box for a few days.:(

Well, I just had a deathclaw incursion in my lowest population vault (74), so the didn't raise the population threshold, the deathclaws are just a rarer occurance.

I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but I miss the Deathclaw attacks.

I set up both of my current vaults so that first 3 rooms past the vault enterence are just one long passage of death. I stocked them with max special dwellers armed with the best weapons my wasteland explorers are not using. Lots of plasma rifles and flamethrowers. No one under level 40. And as long as these 16 dwellers are at max health when the deathclaws hit I don't even need to heal anyone till the attack is over. In one vault I scored 3 laser gats thanks to free lunchboxes and now the deathclaws only make it as far as room 2.

I miss that magical smug feeling of seeing what once would cost me 1000s in caps and a major headache fall like nothing more then moving meat shooting range targets. I'd laugh knowing that dwellers that once had to have their guts pushed back in and revived were getting sweet Eric Cartman level revenge. Oh well.

Now about those molerats...

I've had one death claw attack since update. My two guard at the gate weakened them and my cafeteria worked own them. They are pretty weak imo.
