There is a save file in icloud but I am not very sure it works. I dare not test it in fear of the vault just gone. As there is a lot of complaints about this.

I suggest letting the player chose when to save. It may me saved in the devise or in a server. And let the players chose when to call back.

This may help to reduce crashes as well.
