I'm not trying do sound like a dike or anything, but I was very.....confused. This new game seems to have little if anything to do with what the other two Bioshock games established. This one goes back into the 1920's, but it involves a sky city called Columbia. But beyond that, it seems like they took the Psychic Powers of what Eleanor/the Big Sisters had, and a Big Daddy esque thingy in the trailer. My opinion may change in due time, but....I dont know. It's just very....weird. As a game by another title, it might be pretty good. But it almost feels like it's a spinoff rather than a sequal prequel.

What is everyone elses take on this?

You just described what BioShock is to SystemShock. It's nothing new.

That actually looked pretty cool. Im not a fan of Bioshock so I don't know what the complaints are but the trailer did its job well, I might rent that game.

It takes place in 1912 and has a very Americana feel to it. I am looking forward to it VERY much. Also, Ken Levine has mentioned in his interviews that the big thing you see is nothing like a Big Daddy. More will be revealed at a later date. He also states that the game will have a very different feel that previous Bioshock games and that to him Bioshock isn't as much a world/place/time as it is an idea.. kind of like Final Fantasy games... which leads me to this: What if Bioshock Infinite takes place it a totally different universe than the previous Bioshock games?

I can't wait to read more about it. :celebrate:

The tale of Rapture was started, and finished, with the original bioshock. The second was a mistake. A very fun and entertaining mistake, but a mistake nontheless.

A new world to explore, with different values and motivations, is something I very much look forward to. If you write it off because, for whatever reason, you cannot accept a game not set in rapture...

Yeah but they at least change the name. Granted Rapture anymore is beating a dead horse, unless it was a life in rapture ordeal. But I....dont know, Bioshock was amazing, Bioshock 2 could have been better, Bioshock Infinite isnt saying '3' so I HOPE this is a spin off.

@Ruth-God I hope not, I can't dig all that Final Fantasy Steampunk and airship stuff.

@Ph- True, Bioshock 2 pretty much lets us believe a good portion of the city is likely sunken now. So as I said to Septiego, Rapture is a dead horse, maybe it should have been ended at 2. But, this is brand new, and only time will tell.

Who cares what name the game is sporting? You simply assume that the BioShock name is synonymous with Rapture. It doesn't have to be a direct sequel/prequel, or have anything to do with the previous games in the series. Levine said the day that Infinite was revealed that he wouldn't really call it a sequel, and that he didn't want to get into it's connection to the original game, so I wouldn't worry about it. Take the game for what it is.

There is already a Bioshock topic - a bit far back but there is no point in having two.
