Proposal for UI improvements

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 7:23 am

I have some UI improvements in my mind, i will try to explain these ideas:

1. In dweller list view:

  • Add column "sum of special levels", possible values: 0-70, ignoring gear bonuses;

  • Add column "equiped weapon damage".

2. In dwellers gear equipping view:

  • Combine all identical gear into single row and add column "quantity".

3. When room is under attack and it is in focus:

  • in right side of the screen appears list of dwellers who are in this particular room with additional data (dwellers name, health and button for stempak injection).

4. All around improvements:

  • In all lists where is available sorting function, allow users to sort in both directions, add an indicating triangle below the columns header, which changes direction acordingly (see Image 1 and Image 2). The sorting direction is changed by tapping on column header;

  • remember position and sorting state in list after the list is closed (never ending scroll-fest).

P.S. For moderators, please, can you edit my post and do the magic for images to show up. Thank you!

Something to make stimming Vault Dwellers when they are running around the room easier would be awesome as the only vault dwellers I have lost on my survival game are because they decided to run behind other ones making stimming them impossible.

For what purpose?

Using weapon icon should work better then "W"

Number over item's picture will be as informative, but less space-eating.

Suggested before a solution (weird icon, I know): https://www.dropbox.com/s/d6gp14g5v7t9yud/5.1%20Incident.png?dl=0

A row of buttons may be non-comfortable on smartphones.

Suggested before an icon in top right corner: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zfdlm9s1s1t68rp/1.2b%20dwellers%20list%20with%20sorting%20as%20button.png?dl=0

How about a way to give an explorer 25 stimpaks with the touch of a button when sending them into the wastes? As much fun as hitting the "+" button 25 times in a row is, I think I could survive without that excitement.

Also was suggested long ago: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1rjz1b9gcua6png/4.1%20Explore.png?dl=0

No reaction from devs, anyway.

#3 is the only one that seems critical to me, but the others would be nice, too. I can't stand not being able to target dwellers, because they're standing on top of each other, or that glitch where their health bars simply never appers. I can't fathom why the devs don't seem to care about this. Do they think it adds some wacky fun unpredictability, to lose dwellers to UI quirks?

There's already the room assignment list, at the bottom left (if you have screenshots disabled) so I've suggested they could use that. Just add a button to it to select the dweller. A stimpak button would work, too.
